Fascinating, as I imagined it would be, but the chronology felt off

Lost it for a while might be a while before I get back to it

I loved listening to this audiobook and learning more about an absolute icon.

I’ve read/watched enough things about Elton John to know that he doesn’t really hold back. And I know how big he is about the ruinous effects cocaine had on him. Nothing here was new, and yet I was interested. I like his humor and frankness, and how strongly he feels about everything. The main components of the story was the cocaine and all his work about AIDS but it was interesting. I appreciated how distraught he was about people dying, instead of just focussing on himself he also talked about the friends he loved. Glad to have read this.

I fucking adored this. Charmingly honest accounts of cocaine use, extravagant parties, recovering from trauma, and everything in between. I wouldn' t say i'm a huge EJ fan, but I did get rather obsessed with the movie, and so it was interesting to see where the movie differed from Elton's own stories a little bit.
The book is written rather fluently, with each chapter telling a story, that's sort of chronological, but not really. Very easy to get into, would definitely recommend for anyone who's interested in the music industry, or, you know. Versache.

A funny, touching and entertaining autobiography that most of all felt genuine. Taron Egerton did an awesome job at portraying Elton John once again. Would recommand to any music or gossip lover :)

The book was filled with marvelous anecdotes told in hilarious fashion with just the right amount of name-dropping. Stories involving Stevie Wonder driving a snowmobile or Bob Dylan being aweful at charades were the kind I longed for in an autobiography written by Sir Elton John. There were also beautiful tributes to the suprising number of friends he tragically lost. It was interesting to hear about his rise to fame, his views on the music scene, his addiction and his path to recovery.
