This book was alright. I thought the start promised something more interesting but the climax and finale was kind of the same ol same old, very cliche stuff I guess. I do like Dex as a character cause I think he felt really human and broken from his past relationship with his ex wife and his dad and this really played a lot into his character and growth in the end. The dynamics with his daughters was also quite cute.
I am obsessed with Winnie and Dex!!
I was hooked from the very beginning and I have to say that during most of the scenes, I was screaming and kicking my feet.
The ending was my favourite part no doubt about it.

At a certain point, girl, if a guy keeps having to make big apologies to you--he's got an anger issue and maybe you should discuss that at least a little.
Also, I don't like age gaps. Characters always convince me, yep, you're right. Age gap too big. 22 to 34 is wildly different life stages given their lives. This was glossed over, too. Everyone in the book had successful age gap relationships, which really, not a sign it's a good idea, maybe a sign you're unwittingly in a cult.
All that said, this wasn't terrible.I'm not sure if this needs a spoiler tag--we all know a romance will end with a Happily Ever After. But, I found myself rooting for a Happy Memories ending. This didn't really need them to get together. They could have parted as friends with happy memories of their time together as they pursued lives in different states. They could have been great friends--a friend relationship would have been more believable, and honestly, happier, to me for their ending. I found myself disappointed they ended up together. Ah well.

This book was just so good! It combines Cloverleigh Farms and the Frenched series. Winnie McCallester is all grown up and after a string of bad relationships she has decided to give up dating. Dex is a single Dad to two adorable girls Hallie and Luna and they move next door to Winnie. This book was funny, sexy, heartwarming, all the things I love about Melanie’s books. Dex is a sexy broody fireman and Winnie is sweet driven woman and even though they have a 12 year age difference they have an undeniable connection.

2.5🌶
My first book by Melanie Harlow and it certainly lit my fire 🔥
Ignite is a sexy, swoony, small town romance with one of the hottest single dads of any contemporary romance I think I've ever read. Dex's little girls, Hallie and Luna, melted my heart and made me laugh so hard I almost cried. Dex himself melted my... nevermind.
Winnie brings such light and joy to their neighborhood, and I loved how the simmer between her and Dex turned into a full-on fire as the story went on.
Low-angst, lots of smiles and laughs, and no shortage of emotional connection make this a perfect summertime read. I've already loaded up my audiobook shelves with the entire Cloverleigh Farms collection, so if anyone needs me this summer, that's where I'll be!

hallie and luna were definitely my favorite thing about this book, i have such a soft spot for children. i seriously loved them and their relationship with her father and winnie. but unfortunately, winnie and dex couldn’t make me fall in love with them. now, i’m dying for the next book, ellie and gianni are going to serve a lot. their interaction in this book was enough to make me curious and excited for their story!
