This book was so good!!! This was my first Melanie Harlow book and I’m definitely hooked and will be reading her other ones as soon as possible! I love a single dad trope but when you also add an age gap I’m a total goner!!! Winnie & Dex were so amazing together! Dex’s daughters were so funny and I couldn’t stop laughing at the things they’d say about Dex while he was pretending to sleep. Spice was good but there isn’t a ton so if you’re wanting a smut heavy story this probably isn’t for you but it has such a good story!

The next generation are getting books in the series. Now I haven't read the original crew, but after reading this one I may just go and do that. I had no trouble jumping into the series with this one. This book had me at grumpy single dad. That is my kryptonite right now in romance novels. Dex's little girls are too precious for words. Man did that have me laughing a lot. They just tell it like it is and puts Dex in some uncomfortable situations. Dex, man did he ever hit me in the heart with his backstory. Though he doesn't realize it, but he is totally rockin' this dad gig. He's there for them and trust me that means more than anything. Moving next door to Winnie is sure going to shake up his life. I just loved Winnie. She feels like someone I could easily be friends with. I love the bound she creates with Hallie and Luna. It made me truly happy. Really this book had the perfect combination I love in romance; heart, heat, and humor. This book had me hooked right from the beginning. Gruff Dex just needed the right woman to soften his harder edges. The epilogue was absolutely perfect and made my heart happy sigh. I can't recommend this one enough!

This was my first Melanie Harlow book and I am addicted! Single dad, age gap, and firefighter? Count me in. I loved Dex, grumpiness and all. Honestly the best part of the book was his two little girls! I fell in love with them immediately.
I am definitely going to go back and read the previous generations books as well as the rest of the books in this series.
