A trip back to Cloverleigh Farms

Who knew we needed stories from the next generation of Cloverleigh Farms? I am so happy that Melanie Harlow wrote a story where we get to read about everyone from Cloverleigh. This story in particular is about Winnie and Dex. Their story mirrors a lot of Frannie and Mack (Winnie’s parents) that they themselves mention it. This story has lightness from the Hallie and Luna that will have you giggling. The chemistry from Winnie and Dex will have you fanning yourself. This has everything you enjoy about small town, single parent, age gap, and grumpy guy/sunshiny gal tropes. I cant wait to see who will be the next to get their story told.

Update Audiobook review: Omg. I love Stephen Dexter. I have listened to a lot of audiobooks of him narrating. As soon as he said, “Chapter 1, Dex,” I was like omg and got chills. His voice is a bit lower and grittier in this book. Each time he opened up a chapter, i swooned. As much as I love his “happy go lucky voice,” this slightly grittier voice had me. Kirstin Leigh does such an incredible job as Winnie. Her voice is just the right amount of young and sass to portray Winnie.

I didn’t expect to like this book as much as I did omg
Grumpyxsunshine, age gap, single dad with two adorable girls omgg
The girls were the cutest kids I’ve read about in a book

dex mentioned winnie’s age waayyy too much. like yes 12 years is a lot but the more you mention the weirder it is just shut up. i love winnie tho AND HALLIE AND LUNA LOVED THEM SO MUCH!!! i honestly skimmed through the end bc like i didn’t care enough about them. i lost interest after like 60% but i wanted to finish it. I didn’t care for dex’s relationship with his father and his fathers letter at all but i loved his confession to winnie at the end. glad it’s over now i think im gonna like ellie and lupo cook guy’s book waayyy more. they’re relationship seems like it has a little more depth.

a hot grumpy single dad and a sunshine, sweet-as-candy heroine and two ADORABLE kids??? AND second gen??
Sign.Me.Up

Could not finish. Not even fast burn, the main characters burned before they even met. No tension or chemistry or build up between the main characters. Could not finish, the book had zero substance and this author is clearly not in favour of having people of colour in her books. DNF DNF DNF all I felt was pain

A fun romance. Nothing more, nothing less. I was a little annoyed with the fact that so much of this book referenced other books and characters from
this series-although it is an interconnected standalone-in more detail than necessary. If you haven’t read those books (which I didn’t) it is annoying because seemingly trivial (to this novel at least) characters and their interconnected relationships are explored in more depth than necessary for a book like this, but not enough to really care about them. Thus, their reference becomes obsolete. Maybe if you have read the other books it’s a cute reference to old friends, but really, it has no place here.
Otherwise it was a cute read it that I will forget about immediately.

I enjoyed this book! Who doesn't love small towns and single dads! Things I loved about this book include:
* The chemistry
* The Spice
* Dex's relationship with his girls. I love how they made fun of him!

The only thing that prevented me from giving it a 5 star review was that I found it was a little ending predictable.
