Dex was giving "man written by a man" vibes, which made it hard for me to really enjoy this one. I wanted to shake the stupid out of him SO often throughout. Halle, Luna, and Piglet really carried it for me

This was my first Melanie Harlow and "Booktok" book. I devoured this book and loved it. It was giving forbidden love. Also made me realise I love a single dad book.
My only issue is they could've aged her up a couple of years.

I’ve been seeing this series by Melanie Harlow all over bookstagram so I knew I had to read it! I loved this books and the community it is set in, an incredible start to a series that I cannot wait to read more of.

I’m reading this one out of order too. I had read Book 3, Tease, a while ago but this one has been on my TBR for a bit.
Dex is the single dad next door, a grumpy firefighter with a no desire for an HEA. Winnie is his young neighbor, who loves big and without apology, but she’s on a break from love. No strings attached quickly grows strings and there’s a grand gesture and all that good stuff.
The book is cute. There’s a lot of characters, so I found myself struggling to keep everyone straight, but Dex’s shit-talking daughters are some of my favorite kids I’ve read in romance novels. Usually kids are precocious and annoying but these two are a trip with their morning run-down of Dex and their complete lack of filter.

2.5 that was so fun halle and luna are so adorable. Ellie and Winnie’s friendship everything. And the ogre and the princess? so cute
If I ever say I don’t like the single parent trope from this day forward, I give you all permission to slap me.

I guess I can’t say I hate single parent anymore because I definitely ate this all up and left no crumbs
