LOVE a single dad and Melanie Harlow nailed this! Absolutely can not go wrong reading her books
Hot!!! This book had it going on and I’m here for that. I thought the main character was grumpy and dickish. I found myself getting annoyed with his outbursts and then apologies. Glad he realized before it was too late. And come on, who doesn’t love a hot firefighter?!?
History Repeats itself in the best ways
Oh how I loved being back in Cloverleigh Farms. There are so many moments in here that are so pure and honest.
Getting to see the MacAllister girls all grown up and the glimpse to how life has moved forward since the last time we were here. Can I just say, Hot single dad firefighter...How was Winnie ever going to stand a chance?! Dex was so swoon worthy, but the best thing about him was his love for his girls. Hallie and Luna are pure riots with their never ending commentary.
I think something that always speaks to me when I read second generations is that, no matter if you have good or bad childhoods, we all enter adulthood with scars.
I absolutely loved this story and cannot wait to see more of this second generation! I suggest taking a look at Melanie's post of the family tree, will help you keep things "straighter". LOL

This was such an amazing read! I loved Dex and his grumpy a$$! Him and Winnie were such a fun pairing, him a jaded single dad who grunts his way through life and her a bubbly romantic who has sworn off men! I also loved Dex's kids, they were probably the best written kid characters I have seen, they were hilarious and added such a great dynamic! It was just a really enjoyable read that had great characters, some good laughs and some spicy spice! This was my first book by Melanie Harlow and I just loved it, it was everything I wanted in an age gap small town romance.
I believe this is the "next gen" of her Cloverleigh Farms series, so I hadn't read the first 5 books in the series but didn't feel like I couldn't follow the story or characters, so can be read as a separate series.

What is it about a single dad that lives for his kids? Another thing I love? Blue collar heroes. Dex isn’t fancy, he’s not a showoff. He is a provider. Dex and Winnie meet when he moves into the condo next door to hers and his adorable daughters make their way to her house without his knowledge. They form an instant connection but he’s twelve years older than her.
At different stages of their lives, Dex believes he’s not what Winnie needs but he’s exactly the type of man she wants. The push and pull, the tension, the banter...CHEF’S KISS!

This was cute and fluffy, exactly what I needed after my last book. Petition for more love interests to go to therapy though, all this emotional turmoil during the conflict isn't going to just disappear like it didn't exist, lol.
I'm beginning to think contemporary romance isn't my bag anymore. I don't think it's the book, I think it's me. When I was a teen I would've ate a book like this up. Problem is, I'm not impressed with romances like this anymore. With a predictable clichéd plot, steamy scenes that are just okay with a completely unnecessary and ridiculous third act break up. I want more than what books like Ignite offer. With that being said, I think another reader could love it and find it charming.
single grumpy dad who falls in love with his sunshine neighbor & changes his view on love because of her?? CHECK.
this was so sweet and sexy and simply amazing. i read this so quick. dex and winnie belonged together from the moment they met and dex’s daughters were such cuties!! i loved this. i smiled, swooned, cried and smiled some more and i definitely see this being a future re-read because *chefs kiss*
