⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

Dex is an ex SEAL and had already did the marriage thing and is now single dad with two young daughters. He was finally able to buy house a couple of years after the divorce, he’s moving and trying to be the best dad to his two daughters.
Winnie is in love at being in love. She also has a worse track record when it comes to her picking the wrong man. When she falls in love she falls fast and hard. After her last relationship that ended she has decided that she is going to stop falling in love and take time to get her emotions in check.
When Winnie saw a very handsome grumpy looking man move in next door she had to keep reminding herself that she staying single and that he was probably married as she saw a woman with 4 kids in tow going in to the condo.
That afternoon Dex’s two little girls went next door without permission and when he found them he was introduced to Winnie. All he could think was she was young. While the girls were with Winnie they told Winnie about them, their dad and that he was a firefighter. When he was trying to get the girls ready for a party he heard what sounded like a smoke detector and he went to check it out and the sound was coming from Winnie condo. He barged in and heard the sound coming from upstairs. When he got to her room all he saw was her naked standing on a pile of suitcases trying to stop the alarm. When she saw Dex in her room she fell backwards onto the floor. She was so embarrassed she crawled back to the bathroom and refused to come back out until he was gone. Ohhh and his two daughters were right behind him as well and saw the whole thing.
Will Winnie ever face Dex again? Will Dex believe in happy ever after? I
I love seeing the growth Dex did throughout the book. Even though Winnie was young she felt like an old soul to me and that helped Dex. This was a the first book I have read of Melanie Harlow. After I read it I see that this is the second generation. I’m definitely will be reading the first generation as I adore all the characters in this book.

Nice short and sweet book.
The two little girls are adorable and act their age and the main characters have lives outside of each other.
I like that the single dad's ex is still in the picture, giving as a view into that aspect of the kids lives. Authors tend to kill the other parent inorder to make it easier for the main character to waltz in and build a relationship with the single parent.
Minnie was a touch too forgiving for me but I honestly didn't mind it too much. I mean that's the thing with dual pov's I see both sides of the story.
Overall not a stressful read and although some situations can be annoying, it's nothing that would make someone completely drop the book. Atleast in my opinion.

Trash - cringey, so predictable, not my cup of tea

This book was a lot funnier and real than I expected it to be. I went in with low expectations, looking for a quick, spicy story with an age gap, grumpy/sunshine romance.

What I ended up getting was a rich world, full of well rounded characters and one of the funniest meet-cutes I’ve read in a while.

I’m giving this about 3.5/5 stars for how fun and entertaining it was. The only thing I wish it had more of was a little more depth of each main character. I got hints of their wants and needs in the present, but I was wishing for more beyond the timeline of the book.

The spice was amazing, their chemistry was great, and I was entertained from beginning to end.
