Melanie Harlow

3.92 AVERAGE

This was my first book by Harlow. It was a sweet love story with some tropes that I don't read that often (age gap, single dad), but that I thoroughly enjoyed. It wasn't a super deep story, but it was sweet, and a good way to pass a rainy afternoon.

Y'all...do not let this cover fool you. This was such a cute and funny romance. But also...let the cover fool you bc it was SPICY!

Read if you like
-Single parent romance
-Forced proximity
-Age gap
-Grumpy/sunshine
-Ex-Navy Seal + current firefighter

I'm super excited for the rest of the series - the next MMC is a chef...HELLOOO??? I'm so excited!

This book was surprisingly so good. My kindle recommended it and I’m so glad I gave it a shot! I loved the characters connection. It was a tad cheesy at times but it was exactly what I needed after reading a bunch of darker romance books lol. & not to mention… I was shocked with the spice this book packed. Did not disappoint!

Oh my goodness, I'm on chapter 7 and I love these girls already!!!

"Now they were playing their favorite game, which was to stand next to me while I slept and talk shit about me."

"Look at the way his nostrils flare when he snores." Hallie's voice came through the fog of a restless sleep.
"Yeah," Luna giggled. "Is that hair in his nose?"
"Ew, I think it is. I never noticed that before."
"Maybe he cuts it," Luna said. "I saw him giving his bushy eyebrows a haircut once."
More giggling. "I'm glad my eyebrows don't look like that."

I am cackling. These two are precious!!!

What a fantastic book!! Dex really is a grumpy ogre, but luckily he has two shit-talking sweethearts who don't let his heart get totally hard. Winnie is as perfect for those girls as Frannie was for her and her sisters. Loved seeing the next generation as well as all the characters we know and love from Cloverleigh and Bellamy Creek. Can't wait for the next book!

*2.5 to 3 stars

Cute!

Cute and predictable, just what I wanted. I loved Winnie and Dex's story & that it's based in Michigan. I love that there wasn't a love triangle of any sort either.

THIS DAMN BOOK

I read the whole thing on one day and it did not disappoint. I loved the male live interest and the girl was a badass. Yes it could have been flushed out more but that’s just not the way Melanie Harlow flows and I’m okay with that. Usually age gaps in romance bother me but this one was ok.
