This book ThiS BOOK...
It was one lf of my best read to kill the reading slump I enjoyed it so much, loved the writing, the characters, Winnie's personality was similar to mine in multiple ways so I felt more connected and understanding to her in a lot of situations, Dex's personality really fits especially that he's a single dad and has a complicated relationship with his father and a trauma BUT HE WAS HOT AS HELL,
i took so long to finish the book because of college but IT WAS WORTH IT^^

not the best book I've ever read but definitely worth to read.

Pretty good palate cleanser. The story is fwb obviously turned into happily ever after but it was never annoying enough to spoil the story for me.

Has some good spice but a bit lacking heading to the end which was wrapped up pretty quickly.

I'll say this book surprised me because I had been in a bad romance book slump for months and this was refreshing compared to the others. I'll be checking more works by this author.

It's been some days and I want to add that this book was a bit boring and dragging. It took me months to finish it because I was busy but also because I really didn't care much about what the female MC wanted to do with her job opportunities....she is 22 and for me seemed unrealistic but what do I know?

AWWWWW YAy made it! They cute!!! Just wish we saw the falling in love process a lil more- seems like they had their “i dont love you”s then all of a sudden they loved each other. Would have liked to see a lil internal falling in love realisations but yeah was so cute!

Hot and sweet

The characters drew me in. A sweet and swoon worthy single father and the new neighbor get the sparks ignite! The emotions were real and ride was fun.

I was sad to see the end of the Cloverleigh Farms series, so when Melanie Harlow announced that she was continuing the series with the "second generation" I was thrilled!

The first in this second generation starts with Winnie (daughter to Mac and Frannie) and ties in characters from both Frenched and Forked with Winnie's job and BFF Ellie.

Dex is the single dad that moves in next door to Winnie, and is friends with pitching star Chip (son of April and Tyler). Dex has just come off of a bad divorce and is in no way looking to remarry or connect again beyond some simple fun.

These two connect, and continue to develop a relationship while pretending to "just be having fun" - and of course, not develop feelings. Dex's girls really steal the show and are hilarious at manipulating their time together.

You also get a glimpse at an upcoming story with Ellie and the next generation of the Forked/Lupo chefs!

jk I skimmed until the end bc I’m not a quitter but I didn’t enjoy it

I personally enjoyed this book, but I think it wouldn’t have been as good without the little girls providing comedic relief. I’m not hard to please though, and I love a HEA so this was a 5 star for me.

DID NOT FINISH: 35%

The creepy age was mentioned at least once in every chapter. An age gap is not a problem but infantilizing and simultaneously sexualizing the FMC is just creepy. I couldn't get into the romance because the MMC was just creepy.

So cute! I really enjoyed this book!

Unexpectedly, this book made me laugh out loud and cry and that doesn’t happen often so..
