I LOVE a good age-gap trope... when done right...

my friends, this novel is an example of that trope going so so soooo wrong, to the point that it actually made me feel icky

there was not a single chapter where the mmc wasn't sexualizing the fmc for her childish tendencies or straight up comparing her to a child (pedo alert). my other issue with this man is that he throws a little tantrum whenever he is slightly inconvenienced, which led him to yell at the fmc, his sister, his children, his ex- wife, and I'm sure every other character mentioned in the book.

Look, I wanted to like this.


Now, Winnie is a bit... bland, idk. Her abandoning her dream job, really? in 2024?

She doesn't behave like a stereotypical 20-ish years old, nor seems to have her own hobbies or interests. IDK.

First half was hot and carried me over. The rest....

Unfortunately Dex is a prime example of a man who doesn’t have their emotions in check and how they deal with conflict poorly because of it. Not enough firefighter-ing imo but it was quick and fun! The daughters were my fav part

It’s so romantic and a slow burn which took me on an emotional roller coaster. I recommend this to anyone starting out trying to find something to read when they are in a slump and can never figure out what books they like. I am not a big reader, but I finished this book in less than 24 hours. I could not put it down.
