Jenn Bennett is the best YA contemporary authors and I am her biggest fan so if you want the quick answer on whether I think you should read this book its a big huge YES, read ALL her books!
Now down to Chasing Lucky. I love how Jenn writes YA contemporary that is perfect for people of YA age but also brilliant for those like me that are starting to struggle connecting with most YA as it feels too young.
Chasing Lucky had 2 unique characters that both had depth that made you easily feel a connection with them.
Josie is an arty photographer that has trust issues. She is quirky and funny and I loved her fiery side as well as her vulnerable one. Seeing her and her family grownand change through the book was a delight. Plus I loved the idea of a love curse (especially one that a guy called Lucky could break).
Lucky is the slightly broken, mysterious biker who was Josie's best friend when she was younger. He was bad boy in name but certainly not in actions. I loved the way Jenn Bennett wrote the dialogue between them both as it flowed so effortlessly and added alot of humour.
The storyline was great and as ever I just wanted MORE! Not sure how I am going to wait for the next book!
So yes, if you like YA contemporary then read this book. I promise it won't let you down.

You really can't go wrong with Jenn Bennett and sweet YA Contemporaries. The settings, the trials, the families - they all just draw you in.
I really enjoyed this story, I thought Josie and Lucky were wonderful characters, so likeable and relatable. . I loved the entire set up, the family drama, relationships .and romance of course. It felt a bit too long but with a story this good, I can forgive that. Fantastic YA read.

Ugh... I love Jenn Bennett so much, honestly if this was written by anyone else it might have had a lower rating. This book was just very cheesy and cliche. The dialogue was unrealistic, especially for a teenage boy. Another problem I had with this book was the lack of the word "I". Instead of a character saying "I missed you" they would say "missed you". And it wasn't just one character doing it, as if it were a trait, it was every character doing it all the time. So this book really didn't work for me, but all of her other books are absolutely phenomenal and I will recommend them until the day I die.
Not my favorite Bennett book, but a decent read nonetheless.
This was adorable! I now need to read more of Bennett’s books! It’s a little predictable but most romance novels are. This one still has twists and turns though and I was rooting for Lucky the entire time. I need to know all about Winona! Maybe a sequel not Young Adult?!
I loved the story of Lucky and Josie! To say this is a coming of age story doesn’t even begin to tell the story. It’s about family, family secrets, small town life and what happens when certain secrets come to the surface. Can Lucky and Josie navigate all of it together? The characters are fully developed and the story is well paced. Very enjoyable!
