This book was like a warm hug on a cold day.

I also need a book on Winona and Drew now.

This was cute! Not my favorite for some reason - nothing in particular rubbed me the wrong way so I don't even know why I didn't love it as much as her other books. The Rhode Island bookstore setting was fun (I picture Beauty, RI like Newport probably) but I definitely wanted a bit more from it. I'm also a big sucker for a childhood best friend who turns into more, so that was a nice trope for me too. I liked Lucky and Josie enough and they had fun families to read about but there's something stopping me from really putting them on the OTP ship list??

Bennett leaves the California coastline for the Rhode Island coastline. We join a family where the women are cursed with doomed love lives. Or maybe they're just bad at communicating?

This is a solid boy-next-door and long-lost-love story set in a small town and includes residents with very long memories.

Didn't care for it

I definitely think I would have appreciated this more in my prime YA reading days but I still thought it was a cute and nice read.
I liked the exploration of the multi-generational family dynamic.
The second chance, friends to lovers romance was really sweet.

heartwarming mediocre YA romance
<3 Lucky

Jenn Bennett is out here doing the lord's work in YA Contemporary Romances. Though Chasing Lucky wasn't my absolute favorite of her's (that belongs to my baby Serious Moonlight), it still delivered on everything I've come to expect from a Jenne Bennett book.

Strong female lead with an interesting hobby/goal in mind? Jenn Bennett.

A swoon-worthy Male love interest that matches the female lead perfectly? Jenn Bennett.

A strong family dynamic that breaks apart the traditional nuclear family? Jenn Bennett.

Sex Positivity? Jenn Bennett.

The setting used as the "fifth character"? Jenn Bennett.

Jenn. Bennett.

This was very good. I didn’t love it quite as much as starry eyes but I think I liked it better than night owls which I loved so much when I first read it. Jenn Bennett’s characters continue to captivate me with everything she has.
