i like that things are actually happening for real/the kids are finding things out/it's not just the same old thing every book anymore. i genuinely enjoyed this a lot, especially certain parts like finding out about
Spoilerthe hook handed man's past and his relation to fiona
and the part where
Spoilersunny almost died actually had me nervous even though obviously she wouldn't have actually died
. but anyway, yeah, a good installment in this series for sure.

there were no answers in this one… also very few interesting things happened, most was about new characters I didn’t care about.
The Birthday and the last scene were very good tho

I like the series by Lemony Snicket. It caught my attention since the beginning of the tragedy and it continued on and I wanted to read it because I wanted to see what happens next. Klaus also caught my eye because of his intelligence. I think the last book ties it all up and is great. It's like you forget about what happened in the past to the children and you move on and live in their moment. I was hoping for a better way to end the book but the way the author ended the book was genius. In my opinion he ended the book with a way to move on from the conflict and tragedy and make me forget about it all. When I started to read this book, I had so many questions about the previous books and I kept thinking "when am I going to reach the part where they solve this problem. It seems to me that every time the children had a problem it would get solved but they would find a new problem

Lemony Snicket is a genius because of the way he wrote this book. He teaches us that when we have a problem it can lead to success but it can also lead to failure. Other books have this thing where its all good at the end and the problems get solved and they succeed. Other books a part from the ones I just mentioned, they have sad, romantic or even happy endings.
Most books never have the characters just living in the moment and continue their lives from where they reach. Those characters have to find their destination, solve their problems and then everything becomes alright.
The Baudelaire children live in the moment and continue their life after going to prison for no reason, I could imagine them not wanting to return to their city/ village or wherever they lived. But it seems that they have to many problems that can't be resolved so they just decide to continue a different life and pursue a different solution.

Most books teach us success which is all happy but its not really the outcome to every situation. You're going to lose people, you're going to fail in some cases but it doesn't mean don't get up and try again. When you've been trying for so long and you don't want to continue is like the Baudelaires They didn't just live in fear or sadness. They pursued something different so when you give up, change your destination, your dream and pursue it.

The books that show us failure are the real books, not the books that show us success every time. The villains in books that show us success, are often the ones that whine and cry. But the books like this one or The Fault in Our Stars are the kinds of books that show us that is okay to grieve and its okay to be sad but its also okay to fail.

Thanks to Lemony Snicket, I know what to do when I fail a million times. I will continue to try but if it doesn't work ill change my goal because it just means that im not working hard enough for my previous goal or I just am not fit for it and that when change comes in handy and shows us a different, maybe better, path to take.
