This is an amazing book. It is a tiny bit outdated, being published over 2 decades ago, but it’s not too noticeable. My dad got it for me a year or so ago, and I just picked it up again and gave it another shot.

As a teenager myself, this book was very emotional for me. There is such a large diversity in stories, from people making world records to people dealing with eating disorders. There are a lot of stories regarding death and suicide, which are very tough subjects, and made me cry, so if you don’t want to read that, just know that there is that type of stuff in there. However, this book also includes tons of good advice and inspirational stories, ranging from relationships and parents to what to do with your life and how to make a difference. I also personally enjoyed the occasional comic that rolled passed and the quotes in front of some of the stories.

In conclusion, this book is a must-have for any pimple-face, hormone-ridden adolescent. It gave me tons of great advice and lessons to carry with me into the future.

The problem with the Chicken Soup collection is that after the first one or two, they start to all seem the same. The quotes dispersed between stories/poems/whatever are repeated in nearly every book. Now, as a lover of a good quote, I find myself eager for some variation. Also, with the exception of Chicken Soup For The Pet Lover's Soul, the stories become very similar, it's just basically a hundred different variations of the same book.

None of them are bad, but one or two is sufficient.

gave me a lot of hope that i desperately needed to keep going

Inspiring for teens. I remember reading these stories and getting hope.

I think that there are some great stories in this book and even though I didn't read it straight through it was well worth the 50 cents I payed at goodwill for it.

Left me feeling like I belonged... I was not alone in my struggles. Also made me feel grateful that I have not had to face some of the hard things others had.

I enjoyed this book. The stories were inspiring and hopeful. Some were emotional. My only criticism are the typing errors in the ebook copy of the book. Some of the words weren’t spaced out and letters weren’t capitalized when they should have been. Whoever edited the book did a horrible job. Other than that, the book was enjoyable to read. I’m not a teen anymore 😢 but I enjoy reading teen books for nostalgia. I used to read them as a kid.

A lovely book. All the story's are inspiring, and I love how the story's are collected and compiled, it's not someone just ranting about themselves. I'm a teenage girl, so I am the age group it's aiming for. If you had your doubts about buying it: forget them now and send for it/Waterstone it! You won't regret it! Boys and girls will love it alike!
