3.5/5

I am currently in the midst of a reading slump and so I picked this book up as YA fantasies never fail to put me back into the spirits of reading. Where I had a fun enough time reading this book I just wasn't feeling as connected to the characters or the story as I wish I had been. I know this is because of my reading slump as there were definitely scenes that I enjoyed however, overall, this book did not do as much for me as I had hoped it would. Still a good read though and maybe I will try again when my reading slump dissipates.

I really liked the story however found the ending somewhat weird and rushed, I'm hoping more will be explained in the second book though. The MMC seems a bit bland, but that could also be explored more later on. All in all, a fun book if you are here for the vibes.

It saddens me every time when a good story is ruined by bad writing.
And oh yes did you notice the author had Italian roots? It was very subtle, but perhaps you noticed.

amazing!!

Absolutely amazing! I finished this book in a day. Her writing is so good, it felt like I was watching a movie. The storyline is unpredictable and twisting.

A fun but not especially sophisticated witch/demon “romantasy.” The vibes feel much more like something written in the 2010s, and I definitely would have gobbled this up as a teen.

But the ending and the writing style didn’t quite work for me, so I probably won’t continue the series.

I need time to process this wtf

This entire series was astounding.
I inhaled these books. I was not expecting to adore them the way that I do, but these became my Roman Empire.
I adored the FMC, Emelia. It felt like she was strong and resilient, yet soft and pliable. She gained a lot of footing in the first book.
Wrath. Is. Bae.
I’m so glad I read these. The biblical accuracy, the intelligence, the absolute plot line spins.
This book has everything you need.
