As a fan of Maniscalco’s previous works, I was not disappointed. I feel as if I have been sucked in and feel invested in her characters. I absolutely am looking forward to picking up the next book in the series.

Interesting premise with talented audiobook narration!
4.5 overall but rounding up. i did not expect to like this book that much and it was actually sooooooo good the twists and turns? wrath? and it was so funny at some points too which i wasn’t expecting. i need book two asap
Took me a while to get through this one but once I got into it, I really enjoyed it. It read pretty young and reminded me a lot of of Harry Potter (big snakes, secret books, secret tunnels, etc). There was one mildly over-worked plot but I was fully invested by the end and and will certainly be reading #2 as soon as it comes out!!! 4.5 witchy stars!!

¿Qué me gustó?:
*Está lleno de intriga y tensión. Lo terminé de leer en una sentada por lo rápido que pasaban las cosas.
*Amé la ambientación y me gustaba leer cómo Emilia describía la comida. Me dieron muchísimas ganas de visitar el restaurante de su familia.
*Todo lo relacionado a la magia en este libro me fascinó. Hubo elementos que siento que ya he leído antes pero aún así se sentió muy bonito todo. Incluso cosas que en verdad no eran magia, como la comida de la abuela, para Emilia si lo era y el libro transmitió eso muy bien.
¿Qué no me gustó?:
*El plot entero fue predecible. Considerando que es un libro de misterio y fantasía tal vez no sea lo mejor. Cuando digo todo, realmente es todo. Para mí era tan claro quién estaba detrás de los asesinatos que no fue nada sorprendente cuando se revela.
*El final. A pesar de que era obvio que pasaría eso, mi corazón no quería aceptarlo. Por otro lado, siento que no se resolvieron ninguna de nuestras dudas en este libro y se sintió muy apresurado todo. Y, lo peor de todo, tuve cero closure luego de haberlo terminado.
Sección especial para expresarme sobre el romance en este libro:
Aún no tengo una opinión formada en cuanto si confío o no en el Príncipe Ira. Sin embargo, fue mi personaje favorito de este libro. Me pareció el ser más racional de toda la historia. Mientras que la protagonista estaba diciendonos cómo lo odiaba y que era su enemigo (sin justificación verdadera) él estaba protegiéndola y, a diferencia de ella, comunicándose.
Siempre me molesta cuando los protagonistas creen que se les debe la verdad. Quiero decir, para alguien que se ofende tan fácilmente porque le mienten, Emilia nunca se comunica honestamente con Wrath. Lo cual, evidentemente, causa que las cosas salgan mal.
Y luego está el punto más frustrante de todo esto, este romance no tuvo nada innovador. Honestamente, ni una sola pizca de algo nuevo o especial de esta pareja. Es algo que ya hemos visto antes.

This is such a good read…but the cliffhanger at the end makes me wish I had the second book!

Easy and fun read if you are looking to plunge into the world of YA supernatural. Whilst I enjoyed this book for what it was, Emilia ended up semi-ruining it for me. I loved Wrath, as well as all of the other villains, but I simply couldn't wrap my head around the lack of critical thinking on Emilia's part - every single choice she made was achieved through approximately 3% logic and good sense. Which is pretty low if you're the antagonist of the book and trying to survive this impending demon-lead apocalypse. Another problem I had was honestly how weak the Princes of Hell seemed compared to a young witch? It seems the rules of their powers kept bending to fit the story best and that ended making them look a lot less powerful.
Nonetheless, I had fun with this book and am curious to read Kingdom of the Cursed.
