Aside from the previous book, The Cemetery of Forgotten Books was an excellent series. And this was an incredible finale, and possibly the best in the series. All of the stories that were at the forefront of the first three books were intertwined into this classic of a finale, with old favorites and new characters embarking on a more adventurous and mysterious story than the others. Part of that was that one of the fantastic new main characters, Alicia, was part of the secret police investigating the disappearance of a minister from the previous entries. The best character in the series, Fermin, returns in a very important role as well, which was great to see because he’s a delight in every scene. This series is an absolute must read.

This was absolutely astonishing!
This book was perfect and a worthy conclusion to what is the greatest book series I've ever read. The new characters were a great addition to the world of the cemetery of forgotten books and, as always Zafon managed to create a mind blowing narrative which will leave no one indifferent. This series is definitely a must read for everyone and one i will never forget.

At 800 pages it took me a while to finish and I think it could have used more judicious editing. But I loved meeting new characters such as Alicia and Vargas and it felt richer and more complex than the earlier books. As the final instalment to the series it really packed a punch!

Uiteindelijk blijft deel 1 mijn favoriet.

This wasn't dark but plenty of violence. I kept waiting for something to happen.
