This will be a review of the entire Iron Fey series. Because I've been reading them, so to speak, for about three months now, I won't be able to go into extreme detail like I would like to.
First up, The Iron King, the first book in this series. I can't clearly remember why I decided to pick it up at the library except for the fact that I saw good reviews of it on here and thought the cover was cool. I do remember it sitting around in my library books pile for months until I released I wouldn't be able to renew it anymore and actually had to read it. If I recall correctly, I liked the first fifty or so pages in which Meghan was completely human and everything was in the human world, but once she and Puck entered the Nevernever there was a hundred pages of infodump, which I didn't like. I remember setting it aside while I read Perfected, which a really intriguing book shouldn't allow me to do.
But when I picked it back up, I started to enjoy it a bit more. Then, when Ash entered the story, I couldn't put it down. I loved Ash from the moment he popped up in the book and that never let up. Such a wonderful love interest, and I liked that he wasn't as head-over-heels in love with Meghan right away...like she was with him.
I wish I could say more on this book, but I honestly don't remember much of it anymore; I've read so many books since then. Rating for The Iron King: 4/5 stars.
Now for The Iron Daughter. Like the first of the series, this one also had a very slow beginning for me, but things picked up much faster in this installment. I remember being heartbroken when
Like my short review of The Iron King, I really don't remember much about this book either. I do remember there being a really good ending, but I don't remember said ending. Rating of The Iron Daughter: 4/5 stars.
The third installment in the Iron Fey series was the worst one for me. I was SO BORED for the majority of The Iron Queen and it took me forever to get through it. I liked the upped romance and action, but it wasn't until it got to the But alas, that cannot make up for the rest of the book being a flop, and for that reason, I gave The Iron Queen 3.5 stars.
My favorite book of the entire series was by far The Iron Knight. I will admit I was skeptical going into this one because I was certain I would hate a book written from Ash's POV, but it was all so good! The action was abundant, the characters were great, and I loved being able to see inside Ash's head and how he felt about things. It made him seem more real, not like the elusive and closed off faery he was for the rest of the series (although I loved him even when he was a closed off faery anyway). There were so many good things about this book that I can't even list them all because they're all getting jumbled together! Just know that I loved it and that's why I gave it five stars.
The novellas for this series were also good and I thought they were very helpful to read between each book because they fill you in on what happens in the time between the novels. Just a little thought on those. :)
The Iron Fey series was my first experience reading about fey, and while I was very skeptical going into it, I overall enjoyed the series. The first three books all had their own little bumps that made me not enjoy them 100%. The last book in the series was by far the best and redeeming factor for me. If you could rate a series as a whole, I would give the Iron Fey 4 out of 5 stars.

Ash left Meghan and Puck in the middle of the book only to run off and get captured by Virus and get that metal implanted in his head. But then, it made me so happy when they finally found each other again and actually stuck together.Like my short review of The Iron King, I really don't remember much about this book either. Just so you know, I've been pretty back and forth with this book since The Iron King. I just thought this book was slower. I didn't really like Ash as a narrator, and while I understood his attraction toward Ariella, I didn't like it. It irritated me especially with Meghan and all. I admit that the Pash (Puck/Ash) bromance was THE BEST, but still.
The ending was perfect.

Well, more than 3 and honestly, because Puck was worth reading hundreds of pages. Man I love sarcastic idiots. :))
I also love sarcastic cats. :D

This is my favorite book of the series. It was great. I loved Ash through this whole series. I loved really getting to know him. I liked how the story moved and how it ended and tied it all together. My only complaint was missing Meghan through most of it. It was still my favorite. Another great part was the lack of profanity, the language was much cleaner than the three previous books. I really enjoyed this series!
i loved the last book. what adventure and i just LOVE GRIMALKIN...and Ash and Puck...ah what a wonderful conclusion to a magical series.
it was so beautiful. so very beautiful.

I don't know why I never reviewed these books the first time around, but I just adored this series. And this was a perfect end to Ash & Meghan's story.
What's interesting about this book is how it really doesn't showcase the Ash/Meghan storyline, but mostly follows Ash on his journey to get his soul so that he can be with Meghan in the Iron realm. It's a story of adventure, friendship, and determination. Ash really discovers himself on this journey and learns more about his companions as well. The Puck/Ash relationship is something that I've been a fan of since the first book. They play so well off of each other and despite the animosity that comes across, you can tell that they really care about each other. We really got to see that relationship here and how far they will go for each other. And while I was not a fan of the reappearance of a certain character, I get why it was needed and how it forced Ash to face his past and accept it. Growth.
So if I loved it so much, why wasn't it 5 stars? Mostly because there were a few pacing issues and some repetitive feelings/sayings. But besides this, I loved it.
Also shout out to Grim and the Wolf - stars of this book.
