This was a cute spin on the traditional counting books, with the monkeys never actually showing up until the very end.

What a fun book! My son loved it. It's hilarious and full of surprises and opportunities for participation. And there's not a single monkey in it.

Loved this one! Interactive, kind of reminded me of Press Here and The Monster at the End of This Book. Super cute, will definitely get this one again.

Max's review: "It was pretty funny. And good."

Pretty cute. Mac Barnett tends to be a lot of fun. I especially liked
Spoilerthe 10 polka-dotted rhinoceroses with bagpipes and bad breath.

Would be especially funny to read to younger readers learning to count.

Hilarious! This funny counting book counts a variety of jungle animals, but none of them are actually monkeys. Recommended for ages 3-6 and would work well with preschool story time.

This book cracks me up. Funny story with an interactive element. Vibrant pictures. Not only do I love to read it at storytime (mostly older toddler, preschool, and family storytime) but it is on my list of books to give to kids; usually for their 2nd birthday.

Colorful! Interactive! Funny! What more could you want from a children's book? I laughed out loud the first time I read this one and I almost wish I was still subbing just so I had the excuse to read this with a class. I'll just have to hope they need me to watch over a classroom in my schools for a little bit and I can take my copy with me! This book would be so much fun with Pre-K, K, or first graders especially. I think the humor and interactive aspect is ideal for that age group. This book starts out with the promise that you are going to get to count some monkeys, but then all these other creatures start showing up instead! We just want to count the monkeys already!
