Amazing first book in the mini-series! Moon is awesome!
adventurous medium-paced

I really liked the whole premise of this book! I loved that Moon could read minds. I loved that Darkstalker is out there. I just genuinely enjoyed this book. Even though this is full of brand new dragons, it was probably my favorite in the series so far.

I can't believe we took so long to read this book.

My younger sister and I read the first five books last year, and we both loved them. I guess I got caught up in my own reading preferences these last months, but now that I finished this awesome book, I NEED the second one.

Eh, let me correct that.

I NEED to read about Winter.

So I thought I was going to like this second arc less than the first one, because the first five dragonets were amazing and I couldn't stand the thought of not seeing them again. Well, not so, because the original five actually appeared a lot in this book. Okay, well the four of them that weren't Glory did. I miss Glory. :(

Anyway, the new dragonets were all so adorable and fun and just... fresh. Here are my opinions of them:

Moon~ she is so adorable and I love her

Qibli~ he is so adorable and I love him

Turtle~ he is so adorable and I love him

Kinkajou~ she's not new, but I have always loved Kinkajou

Winter~ he's so cold and haughty and rude BUT I LOVE HIM OMW DON'T TOUCH MY PRECIOUS FROSTY ICEWING It's kind of weird though, because as a dragon he's my favorite character, but if he was a human being I would probably despise him. :)

I don't think I should go on, because then I will start rambling.

Also
Spoiler there's a LOVE TRIANGLE and I already know how it ends, and FYI it is tearing my heart open because a certain character does not deserve to be so... lonely in the end.

That's my review. :)

I don’t write something on every single book in this installment that read, but I do like to give myself little blurbs here and there about what I think. These books are somewhat popular with my 4th and 5th graders at school, which is why I originally picked them up. However, I keep going because I genuinely love the stories. I find it super interesting to read them as an adult because they have heavy undertones that (I hope) would go over most kids heads. There are actually some pretty dark things that are twisted throughout these books, but they are written in such a kid friendly way, it’s easy to miss.

Anyways,  on to the actual book.

I hesitated starting the 6th book because this is the first one to start the new story arch with a new batch of dragonets. Although, the old 5 are still relevant in the new story which is nice. I ended up really liking this installment and instantly felt a connection with Moon. It was very enlightening to learn more about the nightwings and seeing the start up of the new school created by the dragonets of destiny through her unique point of view. This book also set up a lot questions that has set a strong foundation for a fantastic story to layout. Loved the dialog between the mysterious dragon and Moon  and how it propels the story along making you want more. The only thing I didn’t like is that more of the school wasn’t laid out in detail, but I know the reason was to stick to the main story arcs created. However, I felt like some of the foundations of the school and some of the action was rushed to fit it all into this book. Although, I thought I
it was a fast, fascinating read.

I love these new characters and like where this story arc is going.
I think this is my favorite book so far - or at least my favorite since The Hidden Kingdom

I adored the first Wings of Fire series, and this spin-off has debuted just as marvelously as the original series. Sutherland is brilliant!

AWESOME! EXCELLED MY EXPECTATIONS
Is it just me or does Sutherland make the best characters EVER?
All her characters are entertaining and lovable and her stories are never a bore to read!
I loved this new character and her powers. I was able to see the thoughts of the dragons running the school, especially Sunny's. I can see how she deals with the stress of doing something thought to be impossible and I was able to learn more about all our old characters.
I love that none of them are one-dimensional and have different sides of them and all of them are unique. There is always character development in each story with new lovable ones always introduced.
Can't wait for book 7!
