Okay so I loved this!! I wasn’t sure I would because I’m not a fan of Aladdin which is what this is kinda based of but not too much. I loved the amount of morally grey that Julian was, him and James from Hooked could be rivals. I really enjoyed the plot but there was something missing to push it to five stars. I think it needed to be more of a slow burn or a little slower paced. I did adore the ending and the writing style as always. But the spice was pretty darn good. So there’s that.

My first book from the Never After series and it’s a yes from me! It’s an Aladdin retelling; Yasmin is Princess Jasmin. Her father is the owner of Sultans, a billion pound diamond empire and he is dying.
His dying wish is for Yasmin to marry. In love with Aidan (Aladdin) since childhood, her father’s right-hand man Julian (Jafar) manipulates Yasmin into marrying him by threatening Aidan, who he has sent to Egypt to dig for the lamp.
It’s a classic enemies to lovers; although I’d say that there was always a spark of something between them - lust, perhaps.
When Yasmin is captured by someone Julian trusted, can he get the lamp to them before it’s too late?
It’s a relatively easy and quick read. I’ll definitely continue reading this series. I might also rewatch the Disney film :D

This is one of favourite in the series at the moment. God the tension in this book was so good, I loved it! The plot was fun too, I was more focused on the fake relationship than anything. Overall, it was a great time and I love Julian XD

I just couldn’t keep reading, it was so cheesy and so many plot holes. I also made the mistake of getting the Audible version which made it even worse. Yasmin is literally a spoiled brat and they portray her as a “valley girl” and the added crap about the photography was ridiculous. The character had no depth and I just couldn’t stand her anymore. I read about half way through the book hoping something good was going to happen to want me to keep reading but it was just way too slow.
Graphic: Child abuse, Gore, Domestic abuse, and Murder
