Y'all need to learn how to embrace weirdly written sex scenes idk what else to tell you, learn how to have fun w life jfc. Fascinating writing style that hooked me and kept me engaged beginning to end. That being said, there were a couple things like the constant foreshadowing that Calvin was going to be an important character to the plot that never materialized. Could still be cool if there are more books in that series but if not that is a major plot hole for sure. Regardless, loved the rest of it! Not usually one for more ambiguous endings, but the way the author tied it into Chinese folklore really made it work for me.

A love story strung across centuries, told from the perspective of 3 POVs, and featuring an all gay male Asian cast. This book was tender (pun intended), felt relevant, and was rich in Eastern history/mysticism. As I was reading, I knew I’d have to read all 3 POVs before stopping. I couldn’t stop at one POV because the cliffhangers at the end of each chapter kept me wanting more. The writing was exquisite and the bond between each character felt real and authentic. The spice level was also totally on point, and was sexy and engrossing.

Very enjoyable, especially the centering of gay men, but maybe don't think too too hard about it all. I liked the modern day timeline the least but enough to where it didn't detract too much, and I really liked when the timelines started to interact and weave together, even if I would've preferred a happily ever after personally.
Starting off by saying this book was one of a kind! Reading this love story that spans across lifetimes took me through so many emotions. The only reason I’m giving this a 4 ⭐️ is because of the erotic nature of the story. It’s not really my cup of tea but the emotions behind the characters kept me hooked.
The story spans across mortals and immortals where the two main characters find each other across lifetimes through their undying love for each other. The characters and premise was wonderfully done. I’ve truly never read a story like this before. The attraction, phew! That’s really something. It’s electric but hauntingly sad at the same time. I love how the author envisions love through life times especially giving light to LGBTQ representation. I really want a happy ending for them, it’s just too much to bear

This wasn’t my cup of tea, and I can’t really explain why. I didn’t love any of the characters enough to feel super invested. A good listen though!
