THIS REVIEW IS HEAVILY SPOILERS

Anyways the “our God isnt your God” thoughts were great but you’re telling me the end is that everyone dies in a train crash?!?!? Even the kids?!?!? That’s crazy.

Also one of the main characters doesn’t go to heaven/ doesn’t die in the book because she decided that nails and hair and girly things were too important and that reads VERY sexist and also the main characters casually do black face to blend in? and this essentially says “black people = bad” so that’s also problematic.

In total I think i like the ending of “new Narnia” but hate the fact that they’re all dead

I was very upset at this book when I read it as a child all those years ago. Susan had forsaken Narnia, the gorilla scared me, all of my beloved characters were dead, and NARNIA WAS GONE FOREVER. All the same it's a lovely book.

A really great way to wrap up the series. This book also had its own very interesting story line that pulled me in more than the other books built around The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, which I felt were almost just written to give context that that book instead of really being able to stand on their own two feet.
Overall, very glad I read through this series again as an adult. Such an enjoyable world that was built by C.S. Lewis.

My goal was to finish The Chronicles of Narnia, as I'd never had before (though I realize I'd read them all but this one). I have done so (and in chronological order).

This book was probably the darkest out of all of them. There were times that I thought "and this is a children's book?" But it was important. To know the end of Narnia. And was sweet at the end.

I listened to them all as audiobooks. I wish Patrick Stewart had narrated all of them.

a good end to this final book in the Chronicles of Narnia.
hopeful

I wanted to finally read this series all the way through. Only ever read LWW as a kid. I’ve got to say though, these classics are far from timeless. Outdated language and very poor representation of female characters across the Narnia series. Stories themselves have some fun elements and I liked the fantasy of them all. The start of each book drew me in, but I found myself getting bored by the middle in most of the stories.

Inte helt nöjd med denna. Går inte att komma ifrån att den känns rasistisk i sin beskrivning av de mörkhyade calormenerna. Dessutom inte särskilt spännande, satt i relation till de andra Narnia-böckerna.
