THE FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELS My childhood ended with this

It was fun until the end. Then it’s like “they all died but it’s fine because now they are in heaven, YAY!” Kinda a cop out to me.

When I was in grade school, I read all the Narnia books. I had these books in a little box set that my father got me when I was sick. When the movie of [b:The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe|100915|The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (The Chronicles of Narnia, Book 2)|C.S. Lewis|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1171472410s/100915.jpg|4790821] came out, I pulled out my set. Every book was worn except The Last Battle, which looked completely new.

Overall, the book isn't too bad. It's a nice reassuring book about death, I suppose. If, however, you are thinking about giving this to an older daughter, don't. I hated the fact that Susan didn't get to go because she had discovered that she liked boys. Part of my dislike came from the fact that I was the oldest, and the only girl; part came from the fact that Susan had the bow; therefore, she was cool. (I watched Robin Hood with Errol Flynn at a far too young age. If dwarves used bows, they would be my favorite species. As it is, elves only win because they have bows). It's sad because as I get older, this last book became part of the reason why I grew away from the series.

By far the worst of the series. Racist, fundamentalist garbage.

Throughout the Narnia series, there are books that are really fun and others that are mid. The previous three books were really fun to read, but this one fell flat. It wasn't that great of an end to the Narnia series. I think for me, the books had to focus on either the siblings or Eustace for me to care about it. Though, they did have all the Adams and Eves come back, which I really liked, it wasn't a lot of the book. The plot was mostly the other creatures being tricked by the ape and Calormene invaders trying to control them through a fake Aslan. It wasn't super action-packed and I didn't feel like there was any big fight, which you would expect. The ending of the book shows us that they never lived in the true Narnia and now they can now because they have defeated the enemy. Overall, it was okay, but wasn't a good ending in my opinion for the series.
