THE EXPLOSIVE SEQUEL TO THE UK #1 BESTSELLER HOLY ISLAND

The past never stays buried for long...

Detective Chief Inspector Ryan believes he has put his turbulent history behind him. Then, in the early hours of the summer solstice, the skeleton of a young woman is found inside the Roman Wall at Sycamore Gap. She has lain undiscovered for ten years, and it is Ryan's job to piece together her past.

Enquiry lines cross and merge as Ryan is forced to face his own demons and enter into a deadly game of cat and mouse with a killer who seems unstoppable.

Murder and mystery are peppered with a sprinkling of romance and humour in this fast-paced crime whodunnit set amidst the spectacular scenery of Hadrian's Wall country in Northumberland.

I really enjoyed listening to the audio version of this book, I'll definitely be continuing with the series.

It's ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me! πŸ€“

L.J.Ross's DCI Ryan thrillers have been a complete surprise. I would probably have bought because this is not my favourite genre. Yet the character's development as well as Jonathan Keeble's outstanding narration makes up for a real (audio!

Ryan is once again on the track of a serial killer. This is mainly because he didn’t get right to the source of the problem the first time.

My concluding reflection is that the plot of this is increasingly hard to swallow. The book doesn’t even work particularly well as an audiobook, as it makes the work sound like a parody.

I have downloaded book 3 - well, you have to have something to get you through a long walk or drive. I noticed there were a number of books in the series and thought I hope it doesn’t take him another 14 books to work it out!

Well written story, good writing style. I didn't know upfront that it's a series, which is annoying, because he often refers to thing in the past and doesn't fully resolve the story.

This book was too good.It follows some of the events from the previous book and circle business.
Can't wait for book 3!
