Some of the most gorgeously illustrated story-telling in comics right now.
love the Professor Tamtam chapter breaks- a good breather from all the intense action, serving some contrast with its cuteness and an educational one at that!
Ok, ok.
I did so much better this time.
I made an effort to not stare at the pages for hours on end but, instead, forced myself to read the story.
It's pretty interesting.
Our lovely, god-armed anti-hero is learning about friendship (but not really) and that maybe revenge isn't all it's cracked up to be, that it's really a lot of work and not a lot of satisfaction.
But there are pirate tigers! Swoon! And a pirate shark! I'm not big on sharks because they're so small-eyed and bitey, but, man I would love to be her. The pirate shark, I mean.
Kippa is still adorable and her interactions with Master Ren made me giggle gleefully. Those two are delightful.
That art, though.

The better understanding I have of what is going on, the better I enjoy this story.
I've reached the point where the amusing and cleverly delivered history provided by cat historians at the end of each chapter makes sense.

Ojalá fuera yo la escritora de Monstress. Y pensar que la primera vez que lo leí me pareció bastante "meh"
I enjoyed this one a fair amount more than Volume 1. The world felt a bit more centred (or maybe I was just more used to it), and it was cool to see this section of the story/adventure. Loved Kippa! And the art is beyond compare. So beautiful. I will be curious to see where the story goes.
Fantastic as always. Would follow this series forever if I could
Spooky and lush! Not as memorable as the first instalment, but I will definitely keep reading!
