the reason i even started this series is the beautiful art, i would‘ve probably read anything if the cover was that gorgeous; but this story¿?
it is so freaking good.

imagine birthing a whole entire universe (including talking cats and moster-gods) with the power of your mind. i can’t, i am still in awe. yesss i will most definitely be reading the next one
challenging dark emotional reflective sad tense slow-paced

I really want to like this series because the art is beyond beautiful and the premise is intriguing, but honestly most of the time I just find it confusing.

In this volume the world introduced to readers from the first volume is expanded upon. Not only is more about Maika and her history revealed, but these issues spend time in a new city, Thyria, and exploring a mysterious island. Maika searches for clues about the mask fragment she has obtained and also to why her mother wanted with it. There are plenty of battles and new discoveries and settings to keep you interested and rapidly turning pages. This volume ends with a bit of a tease that made me very grateful that I had already gotten the next one already! The illustrations and panels are beautiful, detailing wonderful places and people (I particularly love the cats, which exist as a sentient, speaking race in this series) and the colors form a lovely aesthetic and add to the mood of the writing and contents of the story.

I have so many more questions and not enough answers!

The art is really fantastic. I'm enjoying the story quite a bit.

I like the mythos and the world in which the story takes place.

I don't care much for the characters, they are mostly ways to get more information about the story.

The story and history are now picking up along with the action, so we're getting more empathy for the main character. But also she's the worst. The characters around her are what I'm interested in at this phase.

This series is mind-blowingly amazing. Art is fantastic, characters are developing, story is less confusing. Excellent book 2.
