Really loved this series!
I'm that one person who isn't much of a Finn fan but besides that I just really enjoyed the story and the fast pace of the books!

These Twisted Bonds pick up immediately after These Hollow Vows. The beginning of the book is fast-paced and action-packed! We also meet Misha early in this book, who is one of my new favorite characters. He was much needed!
This book contains so much more political aspects than the last book. I couldn't really keep up with it half of the time, but that's not something new. I also found the magic confusing sometimes, but that's nothing new for me.
I wish there was more fighting though. After the beginning, the action kinda dabs off and we're left with more politics.
All in all, I liked this book much better than the last one, and I'm quite satisfied with the ending even if maybe it felt a little bit rushed. The story itself wasn't very original though, but I was still intrigued by how it would play out!
I would definitely recommend this duology!

I've read a lot of fantasy and was hoping that this would give me that sort of guilty pleasure quick read - but it didn't hit the mark for me unfortunately.
I find that the main disappointment for most reviewers is that this isn't ACOTAR even though ACOTAR is far from the first book to ever touch on fae fantasy. If that's what you want, this book is not for you. Let's also not act like Maas is the pinnacle of good writing.
I really struggled with knowing what reader this was aimed for - it had some sexual content despite feeling targeted towards more of a YA audience, and when they mentioned that Brie wasn't even 18 yet it felt very strange as I had assumed they were all at least in their twenties.
I felt that this did not need to be a duology - there was not enough meat to the plot to justify this second book. There was a lot of travelling, then a kidnapping/invasion/attack, then back to travelling - over again until I had to double check that I hadn't accidentally gone back a few chapters. The narrative felt very repetitive and felt like the author was just trying to draw out the book with some internal monologues.
Thank you to Netgalley an the publisher for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Did not like any of these characters by this point, nor did I find the love triangle compelling.
