I love the book for the gender fluidity of the character A. Levithan had a good start with being vague on who A is, by writing it in A's point of view. One day A's a girl; another, a boy; another, in different ethnicity, different lifestyles, different choices of life and lots more. I also enjoy the part whereby A actually gets to choose how A wanted his hosts to remember their lives after A left their bodies. Wouldn't be fair to them if they can't remember the rest of their lives now, would it?
However, I do realize there's one loophole in this book.
Which is, when Nathan said that A was a demon and A possessed Nathan for the whole day. Then A retaliates Nathan saying that A is not a demon. Unless Nathan is a Muslim, then Nathan would suggested that A is a jinn who possessed him that day (which is unlikely since he called the reverend, so this indicates that he came from a devout Christian family).
Now, imagine this. If a person, with fangs who doesn't eat or drink anything else other than human blood and has a sunlight allergy, claims that they aren't vampires, that's not consistent with what they are as a being at the first place.
Likewise, if A, who possessed others day by day and then doing things that the host (in this case, Nathan) didn't want to do, is not a demon, I'm not sure what being is he. Do explain to me if there's a logical explanation for this because I really could not comprehend this.
Pardon my grammar. English is not my first language.

This book was interesting. The storyline was unique and I generally liked the characters. There were several holes in the story and some important inconsistencies from the beginning to the end of the book, which I couldn't get past.
The ending for me was mixed. I liked how the relationship with Rhiannon was "settled," but I didn't like not really knowing what was next for A or that he was going with Rev. Poole.
Probably not a book that I would bother recommending, except to maybe a young teen, which I realize who this book was actually written for.

I did not enjoy this book at all. I thought the concept was kind of cool but David could of gone a completely different route with this story. It was kind of dumb and there are stuff that I prefer not to read about. Sorry I don't that is entertaining at all. I don't want to see that or read about that. It's disgusting.

Al principio estaba replanteandome dejar de leerlo ya que me parecía muy repetitivo. Pero mientras iba avanzando me he dado cuenta que merece la pena leerlo. El penúltimo capítulo es muy bonico.

I was totally into this book until the abrupt ending. The premise was interesting and I liked both A & Rhiannon, but it seems to me that Levithan realized he'd written himself into a corner and then found the easiest way to weasel himself out of it. Not his best work, in my opinion.

This one is also in the style of Life After Life. Each day, the particular soul we are following wakes up in a different body. One day, it's the body of a girl's boyfriend. The soul falls in love with the girl and then spends the rest of its time trying to be with her. Very interesting look at what really constitutes a person or a soul.
