The first half of the book made me roll my eyes more times than I can count, but by the end of it, I found myself tearing up a couple times. As someone who has had the same black slug eating away at my insides for years, this book warmed my heart. I love that
both Aysel and Roman decided to live in the end. That could've taken a much darker turn otherwise.

Overall, a fast read and a dark but hopeful story.

I really liked this book, especially the first half. It described the feelings of depression in a very good way. I was afraid that the book would romanticize mental illnesses, and sadly it kind of did. The first half was very good as I said, but after the romance between them started it seemed like a relationship can fix severe mental illnesses, which I think is kind of ignorant. If you can ignore that it’s a little bit romanticized I really think it was a great read.

spoilers ahead I guess
TW of course for depression and suicide...
it felt relieving at first to read the story of someone struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts because I finally felt like someone understood. But then as the story went on, I felt like everything seemed too easy. It may be selfish from me because I know everyone's experience is different, but the way the book went seemed a bit cliché, a bit like the author wanted to write the story just to make people believe there are many other choices. And it's a great message, I just think that most of the time, the battle with depression is a lifelong one, not something that stops in three weeks because of only falling in love. So this representation seemed a bit too hopeful to me for it to feel real enough
