I understand Freya’s anger. I just……. Couldn’t find myself caring much about it or the circumstances surrounding it.

The part I enjoyed most about book one, the sarcastic, tension filled banter, was nonexistent for the majority of this book because of Bjorn’s betrayal. And while I understood its absence, it made the book entirely less fun to read.

Geir gets a bit of a redemption arc, which is nice. But I still don’t care for Ingrid.

Freya still never really gets anyone besides Bjorn, which I hate. Even with Ingrid popping up in the epilogue, there’s no sense of friendship there. What could have been a friendship with Tora after she’s freed is not touched upon or hinted at. In fact Freya finds herself hoping Tora will be the one to guide the Unfated so she doesn’t have to lol

This book and the duology as a whole had very interesting themes, a fun magic system, but overall the characters fell flat to me. I wasn’t rooting for Freya and Bjorns love story nearly as much as Haralds downfall.

This was a great ending to the duology it wrapped things up but had lots of twists and turns some of which you expect others that just hit you but totally make sense when you reflect. I loved the characters and the depth of it as no one was purely good everyone is a bit monstrous.

OMG WHAT A READ!!!
No quería que terminara, a decir verdad, no dejaba de darle largas porque no quería acabar la historia y despedirme de los personajes. Y qué buenas declaraciones de amor de mi estimado Bjorn. Siento que en este libro, al menos a partir de la mitad, vemos a una Freya un poco más consciente de la cosas, quizá algo más madura también. El desarrollo de la historia, tenía ciertas sospechas pero ciertamente no me esperaba todo el plan que el vástago del diablo había preparado. Fue una lectura increíble, y realmente creo que extrañaré un poco de este mundo de los Unfated. SKOL!

it was an entertaining story of course but i think there was too much happening while being so predictable on how it would end. this was definitely an “i didn’t say it was good, i said i liked it” kind of story.
