A wonderful book, beautifully described with an interesting meaning

It's a great book that keeps us connected all the time with the different characters, that are not as ordinary as you might think. Read it first, then watched the movie, cried in both (multiple times actually).

Super compelling and interesting but
THEY JUST LET HIM FUCKING DIE?!

Not at all surprised that it was better than the movie.

Reading this was an emotional and captivating experience. Each character was distinct and interesting. I found myself continually surprised and increasingly invested with each twist and turn. I look forward to reading it again.

Stephen King's talent of storytelling is incredible. The Green Mile, originally published as a six-part serial, followed former prison guard Paul Edgecombe as he wrote his tell-all about what happened in the year 1932 in Cold Mountain Penitentiary. It was the year when John Coffey—like the drink, only not spelled the same—was convicted with the death penalty.

Oh, man. This novel shook me up. It made me feel uncomfortable as it dealt with a lot of moral grayness and ambiguity. But the one feeling that overwhelmed all the other emotions I felt while reading this book was awe. I'm still at awe at King's storytelling. He knows how to tell a story and he know how to tell it well. The book was a thrilling page-turner and I can't imagine how the readers coped with King ending every volume with a cliffhanger. And I am at awe with the stoy itself. It was a sad, sad tale, but beautifully written. This is really incredible. I love every single moment of it. Every single thing.

E block. Where a walk down the green linoleum flooring is the last walk death row inmates will take. In the fall of 1932, John Coffey arrives on The Mile, convicted of killing two young girls. A mysterious grifter with a strange gift. The time surrounding John Coffey’s stay on the Mile is Paul Edgecombe’s worst memories and what made him decide to finally leave his position on The Green Mile. His final task is writing down everything that happened.
I am an avid fan of the movie, so it was about time I read the book. This is one of those books I truly wish I could have read before the movie came out. It would have been such a different experience. The magical realism is just amazing, and the hatred you feel for Percy is unmatched.
