This is the closest to book movie combos I’ve ever read/watched. One of my favorites.

Amazing book, although it made me cry, but I loved it!

Loved it. I remember seeing the movie years ago, but that didn’t have the backstory of the main character, but I enjoyed it and it made the ending complete.

I was told this was one of King’s best but WOW. My tears stained the last 50 pages. To start, this book immediately gave me parallels to Kill a Mockingbird; the book taking place in the South, a black man on trial for a crime he did not commit. I haven’t had a book leave me emotionally stunned before…but this one did. The allusions to religion, John having this “god given ability” of “god working through him”, then later, prior to John’s execution hearing how this gift works as a curse to him. That those little girls died because of love, that we beg God why, but as Paul said “he doesn’t care”. AND oh GOD…when John was saying that he was afraid of the dark..that absolutely broke me. Each character was wonderful written as if I could imagine them standing right before me, the twists and the turns, when we kind out Wharton killed the twins, I honestly didn’t see that coming. When the mystery of why they didn’t scream kept haunting Paul, I honestly thought it was because they knew their killer. MR JINGLES BEING ALIVE…ONE OF MY FAV PARTS. Top Ten in the best novels I’ve ever read.

As moving as can be. A catching and reflective book by Mr. King and very different than many of his other books.
