3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the premise but the ending was very anticlimactic.

With amount of books I’ve read with the patient/therapist/stalker theme, it wasn’t the greatest. I didn’t feel like the characters stuck out very much and were kinda boring. There were definitely some good twists and turns throughout the book but I felt lost in the sauce at times.

Another good one from these ladies. I'm officially a fan and will read whatever they come up with next.

eh. Ok, but not nearly worth the hype.

REally twisted tale. Very dark. Written from POV of the villain and protagonist. I would defintely recommend.

An Anonymous Girl offers an intriguing psychological thriller with a premise that draws you in, but it doesn’t fully deliver on the tension it promises. The characters, especially Jessica and Dr. Shields, are compelling, but the plot sometimes feels predictable and lacks the depth needed to fully immerse the reader. The alternating perspectives work well at first, but the twists become somewhat repetitive by the end. It’s a decent read if you’re looking for something light in the suspense genre, but it falls short of being truly memorable.”

Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it.

What a great read! A page-turner that kept me flying through it in a matter of hours. Full of twists and surprises, I loved this book even more than Hendricks' and Pekkanen's previous book, THE WIFE BETWEEN US. Wonderfully complex characters who were sometimes hard to like, yet also great to root for. Dr. Shields was extraordinary.

Wow! What an entertaining and interesting ride this book is! I loved loved loved it! I received an advance copy from St. Martin’s Press and it felt like Christmas came early. The book comes out January 9th and is definitely worth a read. I couldn’t put it down.

The researcher in me was immediately horrified by the unethical nature of the research that is the premise for the novel, but the escapist reader in me lapped it up. Jess is a make-up artist working contract gigs in NYC after being unable to find success doing make up in the theater world. Hard up for cash, as she secretly supports her family by paying some of her disabled sister's medical bills, she talks her way into one of her client's spots in a research study on morality and ethics. Seems like easy money and very soon, she's offered an opportunity to expand her participation with the mysterious Dr. Shields for even more cold hard cash. But as she spends more time with Dr. Shields she soon finds herself well over her head in a manipulative game of cat and mouse. This story will keep you turning pages til the bitter end.
