IM FREEEEEE!!!!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY FUCKING LIFE. nah but this wasn’t a great book

This is the first ever thriller I’ve read and it kept me enthralled from the beginning. Will definitely read more thrillers from now on. Loved the characters and their descriptions. Could really visualize the characters.

3.5

Oof. This was a toughy. It took everything in me to get through it, but I thought about quitting halfway through many times because it just was not holding my attention. There were so many points where you could tell there was an effort to add some suspense but it felt very flat. I also didn’t enjoy any of the characters very much at all, or honestly the overall story line. I feel like that’s a hot take because most people seem to have really enjoyed it, but it wasn’t for me.

3.5 Stars. Pretty predictable, but a very fast read and good for summer. I rolled my eyes for some of the character arcs, but the plot moved along.

I would have finished this book in 4 days even if I wasn’t quarantined - couldn’t put it down.

I listened to this on audible and it was excellent. The writing and storyline was intriguing and kept you guessing. The two narrators brought this story to life and added to the tale. I will definitely read these authors again. And if I run across books narrated by Julie Whelan(who I’ve enjoyed before in The Great Alone) and Barrie Kreinik I will definitely check it out.

3.75 stars

I liked the plot and thought the story was off to a great start, but it was verrrry drawn out. I didn't find it particularly suspenseful either.

Really a 2.5, but I enjoyed the way Dr. Shields' narrative was written.

I didn't have high hopes for this book, but I expected a lot more than I was given. The synopsis was so intriguing, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. Unfortunately, as the plot slowly unraveled, I found myself utterly disappointed, annoyed, and bored.

The characters were not too complex, but they were interesting enough where, in the beginning, I wanted to learn so much about them. But like I said before, they just became annoying.

This book could've been executed so much better, but, in the end, it did not live up to its captivating synopsis.
