This was demented and stressful. I tore through it in a few hours and couldn’t stop grinding my teeth the whole time. Be warned: you will need to set aside time to read this in big chunks or all in one go. Once you get into the thick of it, you will not want to stop reading before the conclusion unfolds.
Twisted, intriguing, and intense. A fun read. However…
I personally think the ending was abrupt - Dr. Lydia Shields’ suicide did not fit, and neither did Jessica’s fate.
Goodreads doesn’t allow a decimal rating (though I think it should), but I would still totally recommend this book! 3.5 stars out of 5 for me :)

“People are motivated to break their moral compasses for a variety of primal reasons - survival, hate, love, envy, passiom and money”
Loved that An Anonymous Girl was a little unlike any psychological thriller that I’ve read recently! I loved The Wife Between Us and when I received an advanced copy through NetGalley was very excited to see where the authors would venture to next, This book focuses on a young 20-something in New York City trying to make it as a makeup artist and support her struggling family. What transpires after she stumbles into the opportunity to make some money by partaking in a morality study conducted by a respected psychologist and professor is where things get TWISTY.
An Anonymous Girl sets itself apart from typical thrillers with a plot that showcases secrets, morality and how sometimes the mind itself is the sharpest weapon. This novel asks you how your deepest secrets can be twisted and used against you, how far you would go to support your family and how far you would go to protect yourself.
I gave this one four stars for a twisty and unique plot that kept me turning the pages late into the night. While I think the book could have been a tiny bit shorter, it picked up so much at the end and made the build up to the conclusion (and a pretty satisfying epilogue) very worth it!

In the year since it's been published I have read "The Wife Between Us" twice, it was that good, so when I heard that the author's were publishing another book together I was beyond excited. I managed to get my hands on an advanced copy and read it cover to cover in four days, hardly putting it down (at one point I feel up the stairs at the Park Place subway station because I was trying to finish a chapter before heading into the office).
I LOVED this book in a completely different way from "The Wife Between Us." This was really took the idea of psychological thriller and hit it out of the park. There were multiple times I had to stop and put the book down because it was starting to psych me out.

Not too bad a read- engaging story -that kept me interested. My only criticism is the Psychiatrist's narration. It's read in third person- telling us what Jess does in "real time" --it's weird.
