Too much back and forth. Who is bad? The husband or the wife? I dont think the authors even knew until the end, that’s how confusing and boring the book was. Also how many times can we comment on the perfume being “clean and spicy” because BORING. NEXT.

3.75/5 stars: a 28 year old girl lies to joint a morality study, and becomes entwined in the life of the professor running the study.

this was a re-read (well, a listen) from a few years ago. It’s a decent thriller, but feels long and slow in some parts. The characters aren’t quite flushed out enough for me.

The Anonymous Girl is the highly anticipated sophomore novel from the writing duo that brought you The Wife Between Us. I know my low rating of that one was not the popular opinion. This one is better. It’s intoxicating from the start, never dragging and continuously surprising (not saying the opposite was true of TWBU. I had problems with that one for different reasons). Peeling back the layers of this delicious story was a pleasure! (This was my December BOTM pick)

LOL WHO ARE ALL THESE ROBOT PEOPLE. AND WHY DO I KEEP READING BOOKS WITH THEM IN IT. Seriously, these super calculated, cold cyborgs, do they live in all of us? Can they be summoned and banished with bells? Can the term "pivot point" be overused? YES. (Seriously impressed by all the cold calculating that happens though. I can't think that far ahead, probably why I'm bad at chess)

When Jessica enters a study in order to make some extra cash, she begins to question what the truth is and what is a lie. An Anonymous Girl is a story that I feel is best to go into without knowing too much. I loved that feeling of going into it blindly. It makes the story more enjoyable and you are more open to the twists and turns. The deeper I got into the story, the crazier I thought Dr. Shields was and then I began to wonder if Jessica is just as crazy for blindly going along with her. Or is Dr. Shields just that good at manipulating people and getting her way?

When Jessica begins to second guess every action, every encounter, I wonder if she is being perhaps too paranoid. Then again, what if she is right?

I loved the suspense in this story. Each interaction between Dr. Shields and Jessica caused me to be concerned and wonder what the heck is really going on here. I loved that. During the course of the book however, it felt like there was so much buildup, that when the ending came, it was a little lackluster. The ending definitely could have been better in my opinion. Overall, I did enjoy reading the book. The writing and suspense kept me turning page after page, wanting to know what was going to happen next. I will definitely be checking out more work from these two authors in the future.

3.5. Slightly disappointed because I really enjoyed The Wife Between Us. I liked it, but I felt it really dragged in the middle and it just didn’t pack the same punch as their first novel.

Hate to do this but couldn’t get past 30% just wasn’t interested and it was so slow paced.

Did not finish.

Which is a shame as I LOVED the wife between us

hmm on one hand, I devoured this book in a few hours and it was thoroughly entertaining. I love the idea of morality, research, and ethics being tackled in this novel. On the other hand, logic flew out the window.
