Man oh man does Adriana Locke know how to create a whole family of characters that are easy to fall in love with. Chase and his family are pure perfection and when mixed with a small town vibe there was no doubt I’d be begging for more stories about the other siblings and friends by the end of the book. I LOVE a grumpy hero and a heroine that doesn’t put up with his moods….the banter in this one is fantastic from the very beginning. Actually the banter between the siblings is pretty great too! Adriana Locke never fails to deliver a story and characters that I fall in love with and this one’s no exception!

The wait for this book was worth it. Chase and Megan heat up the pages almost from the beginning. They are attracted to each other and are honest about it which is refreshing, but their plan to not act on the attraction doesn’t last long. The tension simmers and the subtle flirting does nothing to help their cause. Both of them enter the relationship with gusto but also trepidation, reminding themselves it’s temporary because they are scared. Megan is afraid to trust and Chase is afraid of heartbreak for himself and his daughter. Yet they are a perfect match for each other, they give each other a home.
I love that Chase’s daughter Kennedy is a teenager as it changes the dynamics of the situation. Adriana Locke wrote Chase and Kennedy’s relationship so realistically, as well as the budding relationship between Megan and Kennedy. Loved the glimpses of Chase’s siblings and hope that we can get stories for them all one day.

This was like a mug of hot chocolate, heaping with marshmallows–super sweet and a little bit naughty. A must-read for Hallmark lovers!

A no muss no fuss type of instalove romance between a former big city girl and a grumpy single dad. Unfortunately I fell for Gavin more than Chase and instalove isn’t normally my thing. So I say this sadly that whole I adore this author I know not everything can be a knockout 5 star read.

I can honestly say, this book was worth the wait. Chase Marshall was worth the wait. He is such a grumpy cat and Megan is sunshine. I enjoyed these two from the beginning.

I love grumpy heroes, and Chase did not disappoint me. He is a single dad (another thing I love to read about), with a teenage daughter, looking for help for a month while his mom is away visiting his sister. In steps Megan. Instantly, they are attracted. But he’s too grumpy to give in, and she is super optimistic. She’s also not afraid to speak her mind and give back to Chase what he throws out. Their dynamic was great and the chemistry was definitely there! Love these two together.

I am hoping Adriana writes about the Marshall family siblings at some point. I always love her sibling interactions, and her sibling sets, so hoping the Marshall family is soon. I would love to know more about the three brothers, I think there’s definitely a lot of potential there!!

Adriana Locke's More Than I Could has some of my favorite tropes, plus it's funny, it's sweet, and it's sexy. Seriously, I could spend a lot more time in this world. I don't know if there are any plans for some of the secondary characters, but Chase's siblings really need their own HEAs (Hint, Hint). As vibrant as they are, our romantic couple really stands out. Chase is the redeemable grump, which is one of my favorites in romance, and Megan has the sass to keep him on his toes. Of course, his 14-year-old daughter, Kennedy, does a pretty good job of that on her own. I love that these three feel like family from the start. Chase and Megan have terrific chemistry, even as they banter and clash in the beginning. Megan and Kennedy bond probably a little faster than most kids that age would bond with a nanny, but it works and feels natural. Now, I'm probably hitting a little too close to spoiler territory, so I'll keep it as vague as I can. I just have to comment on this - I'm an avid reader and listener, so I've taken in a fair amount of proposal scenes. Hands down, this book has one of the best I've had the pleasure of hearing (audiobook). It's not all romance-y or full of pretty words, but it's absolutely perfect for Chase and Megan. I'll stop there and let you get the details on your own. Obviously, I highly recommend More Than I Could. I listened to the audiobook, but I'm sure however you decide to take it in, you won't be sorry.
As I mentioned, I listened to this one, and Maxine Mitchell and Tor Thom do such a great job with the narration. Adriana Locke couldn't have chosen any better than these two. Maxine Mitchell is superb, as always. I can't recall ever being disappointed by her performance, and that holds true with her performance as Megan. Tor Thom is relatively new to me, but I like him more and more every time I hear him. His voice is exactly what I would expect Chase to sound like. Whether it's growly or sweet or sexy, he's got it covered, and I enjoyed every single minute of this audiobook.

Adriana Locke always brings the feel good, swoony magic! The feels, the tender moments, the flirty banter, the small town charm, and the endearingly unforgettable characters- I never leave one of her stories without a big grin and a full heart. More Than I Could is a delightful romantic escape- the perfect lighthearted and heartfelt story to brighten your day.

The dreamy cover and single dad trope had me excited for this book, but as usual Adriana brings so many more dynamics and layers to the story. A grumpy-sunshine dynamic, sassy banter and sexual tension, and the nanny dynamic all make this so very bingeable. And these characters are SO relatable and captivating. From their memorable first meeting until the very end, you just want to root for them, hug them, shake them, and dream with them. I just adored Megan- and her layered relationships with both Kennedy and Chase. She's a lovable heroine, and her banter with Chase was so entertaining. But I loved even more how their emotional relationship evolved, the vulnerability in the way they were real with each other, and I adored how thoughtful they were in supporting Chase's daughter Kennedy. Megan's empathy and connection with Kennedy was just the icing on the cake. I adored their connection. And I loved how formidable she was with Chase's grumpy bravado.

This is a fast and light read, with just the right dash of angst and plenty of steam. And the theme of finding your home- and that home isn't always a place but your PEOPLE is such a pure and sweet message. All in all, another amazing escape from Adriana Locke!

Adriana Locke writes some of the absolute best smalltown romance, and this book is a prime example of it. It’s witty and gives you all the feels, and you need this book in your life. It’s the story of single dad Chase, who’s in dire need of a nanny for a month while his mother (the regular babysitter) is out of town, and Megan, the newly unemployed out of towner that’s going to be taking care of Chase’s daughter. Right from the start, these two butt heads, but there’s a strong attraction brewing between them. After a not so great start, Megan moves in with Chase and his daughter Kennedy, but will these two be able to keep their hands off each other, or will their chemistry be too much to ignore?

Gah! These characters! Chase is the hottie grump who’s also a sincerely loving dad and all around good guy when he’s not griping about things, and Megan is the charmingly snarky woman that’s knocked his world upside down. I love both of them in equal measure, and these two are possibly my new all-time favorites from this author. They’re wonderfully written, and their connection is electric.

And the rest of the Marshall family? I need more of them in my life like ASAP. Chase’s brothers are completely entertaining, and I enjoyed how well they played off of Chase’s big brother crabbiness. Even Chase’s parents were delightful. Add in Kennedy’s teenaged liveliness, and this becomes a truly all-star cast.

This story is more than a swoony romance (even though it IS a swoony romance). The storyline sets up Chase and Megan perfectly, and I love the banter throughout the book. The way the plot unfolds is engaging, and I didn’t want it to end. Literally, right from the start, I was sucked into this little Indiana town with these characters living their delightfully ordinary lives that makes it all so relatable simply because it all feels so real, so possible.

This book has the right amount of sweetness, heat, and humor woven through its pages that makes it a must read for me. So, if you’re looking for a solidly entertaining and smile-inducing story, then you’re going to want to read More Than I Could.

Edit: I recently listened to More Than I Could and wow! Tor Thom and Maxine Mitchell both do such an amazing job at bringing Chase and Megan to life. Mitchell really gave Megan the kind of personality that fits her, and Thom's deep, rich voice was precisely the sort of baritone I wanted to hear from Chase. They're an awesome vocal duo that heighten the experience of the book. I loved listening to them!
funny hopeful lighthearted medium-paced

Chase needs a nanny for his 14 year old daughter, Kennedy, who is starting to figure out her rebellious phase. Megan was let go from her job in California and her mom and Chase's mom set her up for nannying Kennedy. The moment Chase finds out this news, he immediately objects to this idea because he is instantly attracted to Megan. Chase has no other choice since his mom, who normally watches Kennedy, needs to leave town for a month.

This is a super fun and cute romance. I especially loved how Kennedy warmed up to Megan and getting to see their relationship blossom. Chase is the ultimate grump but we get to see that slowly crumble with Megan moving in with them and helping out around the house. This book has feel-good romance written all over it, but is also spicier than most books I would consider "feel-good." Don't let that deter you, though. This one is definitely worth the read!

Maxine Mitchell and Tor Thom narrate well together and I hope to see more books with them narrating together in the future!

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF:  You love small town, feel-good romances with a super grumpy MMC and a sassy FMC.
