4.5 stars!!
This is my second book (and second audiobook) that I’ve now listened to from Adriana Locke, and I am hooked! Adriana tells such wonderful stories with fun and feisty characters. Add to the fact that this book involved a single dad, and I had no choice but to love it. And I did!
Megan Kramer is doing a favor for her mother who can no longer babysit for her friend’s granddaughter due to injury. So Megan flies out to Indiana to spend the month as nanny to a sassy 14-year-old, Kennedy. Unfortunately, she didn’t have the best introduction to Kennedy’s father, Chase Marshall. Not that either of them knew who the other was at first.
Teenagers are challenging enough, but living with one and her grumpy dad? Megan had her work cut out for her. The attraction between Chase and Megan was obvious from the very start, which only made their situation even more challenging and attempts at keeping a ‘professional relationship’ futile.
Chase can certainly be a Grumpy Cat (lol!), but Megan was such a breath of fresh air. I absolutely loved the banter and chemistry between these two! This was such a fun story with some really heart warming moments.
And of course Chase’s entire family is amazing, and I hope I get to read more about them in the future!
🎧: I already love previous narrations from Tor Them and Maxine Mitchell, and this one is no less amazing. They add wonderful dynamics to their characters and were a joy to listen to! This narrator duo made for a fantastic audiobook!

“One day, you’ll wake up and realise that a piece of your heart resides outside your body. You’ll feel a draw to that place no matter where you are in the world. You’ll only feel whole and content when you’re there—and that will be your home. That’s where things make sense. That’s where you’re meant to be.”

More Than I Could follows Meghan and Chase. Chase is a grumpy small-town single dad to his teenage daughter, Kennedy. He needs someone to look after Kennedy for a month while his parents visit his sister. Meghan's mum (his mum's best friend), was meant to take on the role, but recently unemployed Meghan had to step in instead when her mum injured herself.
There's an instant attraction between Chase and Meghan, which is why he's so reluctant to ask for her help. He doesn't think he can keep his hands to himself for 30 days! But without any better options, Meghan moves in. It's not long before they throw the rules out the window and start a secret romance, though!
I resonated with Meghan's struggle to find her place and her "home". I mean, I'm in my mid-30s and still don't think I've found my forever home. I also really liked her relationship with Kennedy and when she stood up for her 🙇♀️. Chase was also your quintessential grumpy dad, but he had a great relationship with Kennedy too.
The small-town vibes and Chase's fun-loving brothers were the icing on the cake.
My only critique was that it was a little bit too insta-love for me personally. But overall, I'd still recommend it to people who enjoy a single-dad romance as much as I do!
I received an audio copy thanks to Adriana and Homecooked Book Promos and it was perfectly narrated by Maxine Mitchell and Tor Thom!

Such a great small town, single grumpy dad romance between Chase and Megan. Chase is in need of a nanny for his fourteen-year-old daughter, Kennedy. It's only for a month while his parents go on vacation. It was supposed to be his mom's friend, but due to injury, she sent her daughter, Megan, instead. Of course, Chase and Megan meet before her actual day on the job. She is stranded on the side of the road when Chase pulls up. He is grumpy and tired and doesn't make a great impression.
While I really enjoyed Chase and Megan's relationship and banter, I really, really enjoyed Chase's younger brothers, Gavin and Luke--especially Gavin. His personality is so fun and his quick best friend relationship with Megan is the best. Anything to push Chase's buttons! Luke is more of a mystery, but I did like the small bit he was in the book.
I listened to the audiobook, and it was my first listen by Tor Thom. I love his deep voice. Maxine Mitchell is fabulous, as always. She has a great male voice, too.
I am so happy to hear that there is another book in this series.
Thank you to the author for the gifted audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This small town, single dad romance (although it is listed as a nanny romance, it is more a babysitter romance) is a cute easy read. It does drag on a little longer than I thought the story needed and then seemed to rush at the end. Everything happens on such a short amount of time. But overall, it was an enjoyable book. I loved Megan and her relationship with Kennedy was really lovely. Chase was okay, but he won’t be zooming to the top of my book boyfriend list, although part of that could have been due to the narration. I am intrigued about Chase’s brothers and would definitely consider checking their books out.
I thought Maxine Mitchell was fantastic, and I throughly enjoy her performance. Unfortunately, Tor just didn’t work for me. And I did find myself wondering if I should just read the hero’s chapters because it was quite distracting. The production was great with no issues of note.

What a fun and flirty read! I really enjoyed Chase and Megan’s relationship as they go from flirty to lovers. Chase was definitely a grumpy cat, and Megan lured him into a very sweet relationship!
What did I like? The cast of characters were brilliant! The main characters were just so easy to love! Very little angst and drama as Megan and Chase circle each other. I certainly hope we get more stories from this family.
Would I recommend or buy? I have a shelf for this author and this had a great cover! I will definitely be adding this gorgeous book to my collection! An easy to love romance! Five huge stars!
I received a complimentary copy to read and offer my opinion. Five stars of love for this book!

Adriana Locke doing what she does best!
My Review ⤵️
If there is one thing you can count on from Adriana Locke it’s her ability to write a feel good story. There are so many different genres out there, but I think Adi has a “Locke” on the small town romance. No one does it better, period.
Chase and Megan’s connection is instant, their banter is off the charts fun, and once they give in they are straight fire on the page. This group of side characters not only give depth to this story, they also open this world up for even more books, and what’s better than that?
This story has it all, a couple afraid of taking a chance, an angsty teen who is way smarter than she’s given credit for, and in true Adriana fashion, at its core this story is about family. Because what’s more important than family?
This is a sweet, steamy fun read that will take your mind off all the gross stuff going on in the world, and put a smile on your face!

I loved this entire book…one of those rare books that isn’t overly angsty or slow burn, but I’m still hooked from beginning to end. It’s warm and cozy and a sit down and read in one sitting type of book.

Loved, loved, loved Chase and Megan. And Kennedy too. Love a good grumpy/sunshine too. Everything about this story and the theme of coming home (or finding home) was perfect. I’m hoping Chase’s siblings get stories. Dual POV. 1st person. Open door spicy.
Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
