This is an excellent book for future dog owners, new dog owners and even for people who already have dogs for many years. I really liked the parts where Zak mentions myths about dogs and backs everything by referencing scientific papers.
I already heard about some ways of training dogs Zak mentions, but it is nice to read about them in the book. I started practicing some lessons from the book)

Good book with positive reinforcement techniques.

Very good to help raise your dog as a well-behaved pet in a modern, pet-friendly and positive way (especially good in combination with the YouTube videos). The methods require a lot of time from the owner, but I guess it’s good to know for dog owners that raising a dog takes a lót of time. If you want to raise a working-dog you need to find other sources.

This is a really good book,Lots of positive reinforcement training tips though if it’s your first time getting a dog I would recommend you to read “how to housebreak your dog in 7 days” I feel like this book can only be applicable after house breaking

This book is a MUST read for all dog owners and especially for new puppy parents. It is highly informative and not only does it tell you how to train your dog but it gives you a basic understanding of your furry friend's nature. It teaches you the best way of developing a healthy relationship with your dog and personally I love the fact that it is very against choke collars, electric collars etc which to me is just animal abuse. I don't understand why, some people still resort to such harsh methods. It debunks common myths that the general public have about dogs and it covers up many important topics that we the common people are just unaware of. My rating for this one is a solid 5

I really loved this actually. Even though my dog is not a puppy (he's a twoish-year-old rescue), there were toooonnnsss of great training tips and insights into how to create a meaningful, communicative relationship with your dog.

I really love how Zak uses super-positive reinforcement at all times, even in the tone of voice and "jackpotting" training behavior. Actually, his approach to dog training reminds me a lot of Montessori education, which I am a lifelong fan of. His method is all about trusting your dog, learning what they need, figuring out what they're interested in, and communicating maturely. It's not about being the "alpha" or the "dominant" owner of your dog; training should really be a mutual journey. I really love this approach, and fits way way more into my preferred way of teaching/training.

I definitely recommend this for any new dog owner, whether you've got a pup or rescue, or if you're just interested in learning about dog training for the first time! It's fairly basic and really straight forward, but immensely helpful in understanding how dogs learn.

Great basic info for bringing a puppy home and being proactive as well as troubleshooting behaviors. Includes access to videos for specific lessons such as crating and watch me/look at me.

Great! Also watch YouTube videos.
