Great book - by far the best book on dog training and care I've read. Should be required reading for all dog parents :)
Really valuable information, considering I've already raised a few dogs. His approach to inside-out training is smart and I'm looking forward to using this book to help me train my new puppy!

3.5 Seems like an awesome person And definitely provided multiple tips that will help us be successful welcoming our new family member.

Great for Beginners
Zak does a great job explaining how to positively interact with your dog. His videos are a great resource paired with this book. I highly recommend it.

I am generally familiar with dog training but this is the first full book I’ve read. I found Zak first through YouTube. This offered a good overview of training techniques and other. He is very positive training style focused, and while others find success with specialty collars and such, I respect him sticking to his philosophy. I particularly enjoyed the parts of the book that discussed things I was wondering about but wouldn’t be covered in a traditional “training” handbook, like traveling with dogs or contingency plans during an emergency.

I love Zak George and was excited to read this.
While I appreciate the author, I must say, if you've seen any of his youtube videos, you don't need this book. It was quite rudimentary and lacked the level of detail I was hoping for. If you are already familiar with basic dog parenting, you may not find much new information here. However, if you are a new dog owner, the book may be for you.
The first few chapters were all about before even getting a dog, which I'm way beyond now. Overall, this book mostly covers topics that may be redundant for someone who has already owned a dog for a while.
