This was a really fun, scream queeny good time. Excellent start to the spooky season.

"And remember, dear reader: the next time a man asks you what your problem is, drive his fucking car off a bridge."

I follow Codie on TikTok, thanks to my sister. I absolutely love her stories, her voice and just... Her. So when my sister told me she wrote a book I was hastily on my way to buying it.... When my sister told me it'd arrive Labor day.
I immediately cracked the book open and started reading, I probably would have burned through this book in a weekend, but it arrived on a Monday.

This book is just what I thought it was going to be, so much world building, character building and I was in love with the story from the jump. Watching as Annie tries to sort out her new existence, learning who she can and can't trust.... It's heartbreakeningly beautiful. And the way everything comes together in the end? Just *chef's kiss*.

And Maura saving the last dance of Halloween for Annie, the "knowing" she'd make it back in time. Then getting a slow song to hug and cherish one another? Oh man, ripped my heart to pieces in all the best ways.

I NEED a second book, like just the next year and a few years and... Really forever. I'm in love with Annie and Sam, Fern and Virgil and Dear.... The twins are annoying and remind me immensely of the twins from the first season of American horror story? You know the ones? So frustrating, but I do know the story would be lost without their chaos.

This was a good book, the story didn't lose you. It was linear in all the right and best ways. Thank you Codie, for sharing this book and everything else you do.

I enjoyed this book! It was predictable, but very entertaining. It gives Jennifer’s Body and Hocus Pocus vibes. Definitely a perfect fall/spooky season book. Easy and fast read!

This is a good YA book. I figured it out about halfway through, but enjoyed the read.
