It was very entertaining and fast paced, obviously suspension of disbelief is crucial here.

Kind of annoying because you are waiting awhile for the main character to catch up with what you already know the whole time, but it was entertaining enough to where you didn't want to stop reading.

Genre hopping again! I found Codie Crowley a few years ago on Tiktok where she tells spooky stories with one of the world's most incredible voices (the only sad part about this audiobook is that she didn't read it herself!) I was so excited for her when she announced she had a book coming out! It's a paranormal murder mystery and a great debut.

This book had me at the title. I picked it up today and didn’t put it down until I finished it.
It was a perfect blend of thriller, sass, horror and found family.

Annie wakes up dead and set out to find her killer.
Along the way she meets a bunch of “others” and the crime solving squad is born. I loved the smart humor, the jarring moments of blood and gore, the constant suspense and questioning and the way this book had me rooting for an impossible romance lol.

I really loved how this book was written. The reader discovers everything in time with the main character so it’s all revealed in ways that will leave your jaw on the floor. And Annie isn’t a traditionally “likable” character which was an interesting dynamic because I found myself rooting for her anyways. Everyone deserves justice. And those who seek vengeance for themselves and others are so much fun to get behind.

Loved the book and the audiobook. Highly recommend for people wanting a thriller/horror/suspense with a fair dose of high school drama and righteous vengeance.
