This was one of the most heart warming books I have read in a long time.
I still have tears staining my face while writing this review. Xavier, mate could you be anymore perfect of a MMC.

The themes of love after loss, with children in this book were executed beautifully. Ah my heart.

This is my first book by Danielle Baker and I have to say she did something really special here—she wrote Teddy with so much heart, depth, and relatability. Her journey toward confidence, opening herself up to love again, and learning to receive support? Beautiful. Real. Raw in parts. And her dynamic with her kids? Just as lovely as her romance.

I loved Xander from the beginning of this series—he was the mysterious, grown-man energy just waiting for his moment. The man is respectful, devoted, capable (like, helps deliver her baby capable), and has just the right amount of mouth on him. And the moment he called her “Mama”? DONE. I legit have loved that nickname since the TV Show Good Girl and I will hear no slander about it (although we could cool it a bit and not over do it....)

Also, the female friendship in this book? So, so good. Scottie and Violet were Teddy’s safe haven, and it reminded me how powerful it is to have women around you who just get it—the chaos, the quiet, and the wine.

Tropes and microtropes? It’s stacked in the best way:
- Brother’s best friend
- Age gap
- Single mom
- Love after loss
- Neighbours
- He falls first/It's always been you
- Curvy FMC

Xander is truly the embodiment of "he falls first AND hard". He’s obsessed. He’s been pining. He slow dances in the kitchen. He says “eyes on me.” Honestly? Five-star service.

That said… I’ll admit there was a moment—based on some earlier tension between them where Xander said something a little off, and I felt myself step back. Like okay sir, take a lap and cool off. But did I forgive him? …Yes. Because he’s just a man at the end of the day, and he meant well at the end of the day

i was soooo looking forward to this book; like i've been invested in the teddy x xander ship since book1. i was eating up every interaction between them and the way they came together. the sex was intense and fabulous and the romance was so sweet and precious like i was rooting for them so badddddd. love when single moms / widows get their HEAs bc it's so perf to me and these guys specifically made me so emotional. they fit together perfectly like teddy and xander were made for each otherrrrr 😭

Welp, I read all three books in the Sky Ridge Hotshots series in record time. This was a beautiful way to end it! This book was such a bittersweet romance between two grieving people trying to navigate the world after loss and I loved every second of it. The way Xander loved Teddy is how every woman deserves to be loved.

I'm again begging everyone to read this series!
