AUDIOBOOK REVIEW

I was so looking forward to this one but now I'm left with mixed feelings.

Did not go a bundle on the nickname.."mama"..bit cringey. and hellooo... that is far too quick to move on from losing your husband, but that's my opinion.

loved Xander and his bond with Teddy's children., I thought it so sweet. I love Teddy's bravery and vulnerability.

The spice was amazing tho 🤭

Some of the writing and dialogue between the characters seemed juvenile in places to, I know each author is different but I don't know...

“Don’t let yourself get so comfortable in this life that you miss out on something great.”

I swear this series has my whole heart. Just like in the previous books in the series, this one broaches the topic of grief and both the author and the narrators did an excellent job with it. One thing that sets this story apart from other books I've read with this topic was Dalton's pov on this. To hear an eight-year-old say how he's afraid of losing someone else was absolutely heartbreaking. And I must say Aiden Snow did a phenomenal job with this scene.

Xander and Teddy's relationship is complicated, to say the least. They both struggle with different, yet very valid, reasons that make them fight their feelings towards each other. But when they come together it's so passionate and beautiful and explosive.

I loved the way that they took care of each other. Loved the way that Xander was always there for Teddy when she needed it, even when she was adamant about not needing his help. Also, the way that Xander showed Teddy how perfect and beautiful she is was equally parts sweet and hot.

Another thing that I loved about this story was how, even though they were both dealing with grief, their healing process was completely different for both of them.

Quote: “I need you like I need air, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure we have everything in this life that I can. I want every fucking day with you. You are my forever, sweetheart. And I’m not waiting for that to start.”

I liked, but didn’t love this one. I preferred the first two books in the series. Much less focus on firefighting in this one and much more focus on the FMC as a single mom, which I don’t hate, just reads differently than the other two. Timeline was a bit tough to swallow. She was widowed for less than a year when they start hooking up.
