Motherhood by Sheila Heti

The exploration of motherhood will always fascinate me. So many of the words on these pages have put in to place what I've never been able to articulate. There was a part towards the end that lost me, but the flaws are what make the book so raw and real. Heti cracks open the concept of motherhood and deeply examines it, almost obsessively. The level of introspection is incredible, truly dismantling the inner psyche of one who doesn't know if they want to be a mother.

Interesting form, how most of the book is her talking to me, the reader. I'm not a woman in her 30s considering whether or not to have kids, but for not being the target demographic it was still interesting.

This book was a lot weirder than I expected - a sort of semi-fictional philosophical exploration into the choice whether to be a mother or not. I can see how this is not everyone's cup of tea, but it was very insightful for me
