Did this series have potential to be way better? Yes. Particularly with world building, magic system, character development, and connecting plot points. Was it still an entertaining read? Also yes.

It was a well planned story that simply needed more along the way. I hate having to fill in the gaps of major plot elements or having easy plot wrap ups thrown in along the way. I would almost always rather have extra pages of work done for the story and read a long book than finish a shorter book and feel like things were missing. This series in particular would have benefited a lot by having each book be an extra 100 pages. I'm all for concision but sometimes this seemed more like lazy writing.

That being said ... this was a cool premise and was entertaining throughout which made it a 4 star read. Was it entirely original? No. Could I predict all the plot twists? Yes. But it was still a good time.

FLOVED THIS SERIES! OMG, what a ride this was!

I loved that even though Calla found out that she is the missing princess Zarina she doesn’t change to be someone different, she is still the same sassy person we met at the start. I love that the princes are still as in love with her as she is with them and how much they grew to accept that they are all one big happy family

I can’t wait to read about Sage in her series because I am sooo curious who she ends up with

So good!

What a great ending to Zarina's story! I love that it didnt feel rushed at all. When I was reminded that this whole series took place over 3 weeks I was flabbergasted. Definitely looking forward to more stories from this universe!

I thought a good solid 4 because I was disappointed that it ended so soon - but then I read on to the author's notes after the book and I just love Tate James. I'm looking forward to reading Sage's story! I'm really hoping Seth is a contender in that story...

Oh wow! This book! Just wow! I feel like I want to cry or as Tate put it in the authors note I need a minute.

If you haven’t read this series and want to avoid spoilers it maybe best not to read on because I’m not sure how to write this review without them.

What an ending to a fantastic series. While I didn’t get my HEA with Zarina and Zan but she did get a HFN with Zan, Ty, and Lee and I can live with that. The action, the suspense, the romance, the everything that happened was so fast paced and yet as the same time does not seem like it happened in only three weeks.

Seeing Sagen become such an important allie/friend was amazing (You really want to see her taken down in Imposter but now she’s awesome and I absolutely love her and her sassy ways). As were the twists and reveals that I definitely did not see coming this time.

I cannot wait for Sages series to start and for the continuation of the story as I’ve been left with a lot of questions - what happened to the real Queen Filamina, who is Seth and is he a potential romance for Sage, and what’s the back story with Sage and Kaiten? So many questions!

This was a great conclusion to an amazing story. Tate has done it again. I loved it and can’t wait to read Sage’s story next!

Felt like the pace of this series was lacking, the first book introduced a lot in the basic world building and flowed alright,  but then the second book dragged on with next to nothing happening before ending abruptly at what felt like a non ending, and finally this book, which felt crammed with all the last minute wrap ups and climaxes to the plot, it just felt badly timed and rushed. The ending left more to be desired and felt too easy. I also disliked that the author included a blurb from a Sagen spin off that said coming in 2021, yet here we are at the end of 2022 with no indication of a Sagen novel or series.
