I actually really enjoyed this book. It kept me super engaged and I was instantly intrigued by the characters and the concept. Totally thought the author could have gone deeper into it, but overall, it was super creepy and fun .

I listened on audiobook, I do wish I would have read it to speed up the process. 3/4th of the book is very lengthy. I did really like the plot, I feel like certain parts could have been left out and focused more on the mystery we wait so long for.

I really enjoyed the dialogue between the 4 friends. It feels natural. The characters are well developed. The MC is certainly unreliable, but feels real and relatable. It is light on the spooky, the friend dynamics being the main focus. But when the spooks do show up, its good.

At first, I didn't care for this--there were so many short flashbacks that I couldn't engage with the story line as it unfolded, and the depiction of the friends didn't feel true to me (they barely seemed to like each other). The plot got more gripping and the friendships more nuanced as the book went on, however, and there were some very spooky scenes.
