2nd Time Through (3 stars)
The first time I read this, I gave this book the full 5 stars. That was two years ago and I feel like I have grown a bit as a person and this is no longer as lovely as I initially thought. My largest issue is Isla. While I have also been the position of being a senior in high school and not knowing what I wanted to do, I did not act as irrationally as she did. The world was not going to end if she was away from Josh. I also felt like the concerns she brought up with Josh about their relationship were completely valid and I felt that way about a boyfriend and yet the concerns were brushed away after a month apart.

this book was so so so perfect and I think I just died because of it's perfection. I think Anna might still be my favorite but this one is a very very very close second
Ach. The other two books in the series were light and fluffy so I had been saving this last book. Assuming it would be a "sure thing" and it really wasn't.
Don't get me wrong, it's every bit as cute as the other books, but there's absolutely no build up to the relationship. Isla sort of embarrasses herself to this Josh character and then they are dating. I know I often complain about romance novels having easily solved problems if they would just communicate and say what they are feeling, but I always admit that if you take the drama away from the relationship, you take the excitement away from reading about it.
Eventually some drama is inserted, which made this not a total loss. Plus, I'll admit that it was easy to read and I flew through it. On it's own, maybe it wouldn't have been so disappointing, but I was comparing it to other, better books.

This was so adorable I was really adorable. I was really worried Isla's story wouldn't be as good as Anna or Lola's but I was so happy that it was as good as it was.
This is clearly the book that I enjoyed most out of this series. I just really liked Josh!!! And his relationship with Isla was wonderful and pretty and natural, even in the whirl-wind, crazy life of the privilleged. Glad I got to read this all during one day, because it just boosted my mood a lot.
This, overall, is a really cute series and I do recommend it if you want a simple, fluffy read.

What I really appreciated about this book is that it's not just about falling in love, it's about being in love, a real relationship, and all the ups and downs that go along with that--especially as a teen.
Isla and the Happily Ever After is a one of a kind, it has almost all the aspects you'd want in a contemporary book, the character development, the fact that there's almost no clichés and it's not overly cheesy like most contemporaries are. This is the kind of book that, if you're in a book hangover or just want a fluffy, easy read, you should pick it up immediately because while reading it you'll find yourself smiling like an idiot for no apparent reason.
I feel the same I feel about the whole series. I pick these books up because they're a super quick read with some adorable moments. I don't pick them up because of the plot (plot, what plot). This one especially, is the love story and nothing else. I feel like Isla's self doubt is really true to her demographic but is a bit exaggerated. cliches like the other books.. sorry these are teenagers being allowed to run free through Paris.. but I read them because they're still light and cute.
I will say, Anna and Lola worked better because there was more build up and real obstacles. But what girl doesn't stand in her own way once in a while.

- 25%: Primer beso
- 28%: Falling in love
- 42%: I love you
