I love an anti-war book!! Pacifism is my jam. This was the first Vonnegut I had ever read, and his style is nice.
Somewhere, a dog barked.
I might give it five stars for the anti-war stuff but it was gross that the main character shagged a twenty year old when he was way older than her, and married. And aliens were watching??? Pardon my french but what the frick frack paddiwhack give the dog a bone is that about. That's bad and gross, objectively speaking.
I am taking away at least a whole star for that, because I can, and this is my life and a choice I'm making.
I should take away more stars because i want you to know how much I hated that plot point, but Vonnegut is from Indianapolis, and I Love my city. So this novel gets three stars for his interesting literary voice, multiple stars removed for nasty sexy times, and a handful of stars returned because Vonnegut is from Naptown, for a total of three-point-five stars rounded to four, because I love Indianapolis, I do.
So it goes.

Confusing, first Vonnegut I’ve ever written and had no expectations ahead of reading this, unusual and surprising.
